Bar Harbor Chopped Clams, 6.5 Oz. Can

My wife has food intolerances, and finding foods without chemicals and preservatives is often difficult. These clams are great! Good source for vitamin B-12. Unlike many other canned clam products, the Bar Harbor brand does not put sulfites or phosphates in their clams. And as an added bonus, the dog and cat LOVE the leftover clam water.

This can of clams have large pieces of clams inside. I love it! I love to add it to the Progresso herbs and garlic white clam sauce to make it heartier. It makes a great meal.

Red clam sauce is delicious and healthier than spaghetti sauce, and being from the east coast I love seafood. To augment the sparse clams in the red clam sauce, I ordered a few cans of these. Tasty. Now I have red clam sauce with abundant clams, the way I like it. Really helped stiffen up and add substance to my sauce.

These are meaty tasty clams. I sauteed a few shallots, lots of freshly chopped garlic, in olive oil, added some marjoram, black pepper, salt, and a little italian spices, and a 1/4 c of white wine (I used leftover prosecco), and added the clams with their juice, and simmered slowly allowing the sauce to become more concentrated. Added a big pat of butter, stirred it in, and served it immediately over cooked spaghetti squash (cooked in the microwave). Time from start to finish - about 15 minutes (primarily for the squash). These clams are meaty and NOT rubbery. Each piece is about half the size of a garlic clove, so there's some bulk to it. It is not minced. Very flavorful. Highly recommend for a quick protein-rich fast meal.

The clams were very good. They did have a little sand, and a few were a little chewy.

I had to order these because I could not get the brand I liked best. I was disappointed in the product. No problem with ordering or delivery

There's not much in the can. This is the only seafood product from this company that actually tastes good, though.

I purchased (4) 6.5 oz cans of Bar Harbor Chopped Clams to enhance the flavor of Campbell's Manhattan Clam Chowder. All of the cans contained too much sand and had to be well rinsed before use.
