Barbie Chelsea Doll, Small Doll with Brace for Scoliosis Spine Curvature, Brunette

Mattel has done a lot to provide dolls that offer representation and inclusion. Im so glad that they have started doing this with the Chelsea doll line. My best friends grandson wears a brace similar to this for scoliosis. I purchased 2 of these dolls, one for my collection and one for me to modify for him. I bought a boy chelsea doll and put brace on it for him. He was excited and loved that the doll had a brace just like him. I gave the girl doll to his sister. This made my day to see him so happy that their was a doll with a brace like him. Thanks Mattel for giving me the opportunity to make a childs day!!

Was so excited to hear about this Barbie and not disappointed when I found her. Once again Barbie has stepped forward to show little girls there's nothing wrong with being different. I wish I had grown up with Chelsea, kids can be very mean when you're carrying around that kind of hardware.

I liked that this Barbie Chelsea Doll was smaller than Regular Barbies. And this Doll represents children and Adults that have Spinal Stinoesious and Scoliosis Spinal Curvatuve. I have Servere Scoliosis this helped my Granddaughter understand better my Spinal Pain. She loves this doll.

i got this for my daughter who had her first Scoliosis operation at the age of 15. she is now 45 and soon to have her 5th operation. She loved it, could not believe the back was actually crooked. she is allowing her 11 yr old to play with it. they both love it.

When I was in 2nd grade I was diagnosed with scoliosis. This was like 2002. In 2003 I was fitted for a back brace and had to wear it for HOURS. I always felt so alone and misunderstood. I got picked on and humiliated because of my scoliosis. Last night when I was looking through the Barbie aisles, I found her. This little Chelsea doll that looks JUST like me! Or, like I did when I was a kid. I'm 30 years old now, but I am so excited by this doll. And even better? Her body is moulded and ACTUALLY has scoliosis. You can see it in the way that her shoulders and hips aren't even. And if you take her dress off, you can even see the curvature of the spine! This doll made me cry. But in a good way. I wish I had her 20 some years ago. Thank you Mattel. This is a win in my opinion!

My daughter has scoliosis, wore a brace from chest to hips for 20 hours a day for 3 years, and eventually needed surgery and rods in her back. She's 17, too old for Barbies, but I got it anyway for her and we both cried when we opened it. This little doll has curved spine and jutting shoulder blade like so many with scoliosis do. What a great way to show young people with scoliosis they are not alone!

this doll is so darling. i thought it was just the scoliosis back brace on the doll but she actually has the curved spine. my cousin recently had back surgery and it's wonderful to see this kind of inclusivity.

Absolutely LOVE this beautiful little doll. It has real curve to her back and is so great for teaching kids about disability in a loving and supportive way! Great conversation starter for my almost 6 year old girl. We both love it! Would recommend.
