They love putting the Care Bear costume on the doll and when they're done with playing as a Bear or as costumed, they get to change into a regular Barbie. It comes with accessories and an outfit to be both.

Since it was received around Christmas time, she would compare it to an elf and leave it around the house in poses. This doll has the option of dressing it like a Care Bear or flipping the costume inside-out and it becomes another Barbie doll outfit. The Barbie itself is high quality and fun to play with, as she can bend quite a bit for realistic posing. Inside the packaging is a lot of accessories and can stand alone as a very interactive and fun gift.

However the surprise isn't much of a surprise. If your kid doesn't like the surprise factor then mostly everything is on the package. If the kid does want the surprise then this may not be the best option.
