To contrast the other review giving this game a terrible review, I thought I would post for those seriously considering buying it. No, I did not buy from Walmart but wanted to better inform those who will. The game looks great on the Wii U with the characters looking nearly identical to those on the show. The voice acting is also spot on with the show and for those with young daughters (or sons) who watch the series this game is sure to entertain. The cutscenes look to be in game renderings but are of the same quality of the show. My daughters are three and five and love playing the game at any opportunity. My son, age nine, also enjoys playing with them from time to time. The games are fairly simplistic involving finding hidden objects behind pictures, under beds, in drawers, etc. Some matching or catching falling packages on a platter are the bulk of what the mini games involve and take place in various rooms throughout Barbie's Dreamhouse. The ability to dress Barbie in an array of clothing, shoes and jewelry is a favorite for my daughters as well. At $40 the game is perhaps a little steep for content and $20-$30 seems more fitting, but with the hours that my girls have enjoyed it $40 isn't bad.
For older kids, my 4 year old can't play
What can I say, the Barbie website has fun and exciting games and mini shows of life in the dream house. How they can make such a boring and unexciting game for wii u or any console is beyond me. My daughter played it for a couple of hours and has already put it down to play anything else. She loves Barbie but this game just has them running around a room looking for items and then doing lame dance offs. Where is the traveling the world, fashion design and million of other fun games they offer for free on their website. I paid 40 dollars for this game which is 40 dollars too much. Don't Buy It! in a nutshell this game is aweful!
This game is just awful. It's just a bunch of really simple and boring mini-games. My daughter played it for less than 2 hours and doesn't want to go back to it. It is sad to see how little attention is paid to games targeted to girls.
