Barbie - Mattel Barbie Fashionista Doll

I brought this Barbie doll for my granddaughter because it reminded me of a Barbie doll I use to play with as a child. The doll is extremely stylish. I like the doll had blonde and platinum blond hair. My granddaughter loved the fact she had another doll to add to her Barbie dreamhouse.

The Barbie Fashionistas Dolls is a great line that features a diverse array of looks and styles - not just the classic, signature look many associate with Barbie. My kids liked adding a “Fashionista” to their collection. She has a fun outfit, and they were just way excited that there was another passenger for their Barbie Dream Plane and the other cars and trucks that they put her in/on. I really like the idea that Barbie is going for with the Fashionistas dolls - portraying girls/women in a real way vs. the “standard” look of Barbie is a great step towards helping young kids with so many of the issues they face growing up in this world. That being said, I'd like to see more differences between the dolls than just the accessories - yes, some do have different physical traits, but others look like the time-rested Barbie doll just dressed in attire to indicate her career/interest. Again, it's a positive step, but there's so much more Barbie could do with this. Hopefully they continue this trend of expanding the idea of who Barbie is and what girls can do when playing with their Barbie dolls. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Okay, my daughter received this one as a gift. I'm going to be blunt here.....She looks like a street walker. Her high hells are cute, but totally not loving this outfit. This outfit cracks me up, thankfully my daughter did not enjoy it and it was removed and she was redressed with a newer fashion pack.
