bareMinerals Nude Matte Liquid Lip, Weekend

Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Cookie... My new every day favourite. It's lovely and creamy and moisturising and I've been using it with the new Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner and I love the look. I love a Matte lip colour during the day and this is perfect - subtle but just enough.

Wow this liquid lip colour really surprised me, l have always loved the look of Matt but hate that dry feeling it often leaves. Not the case with this superb product from bareminerals, yet again they have worked their makeup magic. It glides on, and gives a beautiful intense colour, it's glamour in a tube, if you don't try it you're missing out on a truly lovely lip luxury.

I've never used a liquid lipstick before and so I have nothing to compare these to, so this is how I found the product as a newbie. I always thought that these style of lipsticks looked very drying on the lips and so I've always steered clear previously. However I was drawn to the moisturising properties of the BM Liquid Lipcolours and decided to give them a try. The colours that I selected are really great; 'Wink' (a pale nude that works so well with a dab of lip balm on top for a touch of gloss) and 'Boss' (a more browny tone which I wear alone). I now absolutely love these liquid lipcolours as they are long lasting, natural with the most easy, wearable colours and they work so well with all of my other nude make-up. I can imagine many other colours in the range suiting me also, they are super wearable, moisturising and comfortable on my lips.

I have Juju and it's a lovely neutral colour on the berry side of the spectrum. It's not too drying to wear either which is an issue I've had with other matte lipsticks/glosses. It's also very forgiving when you apply it, partly because of the colour. So not worrying about making mistakes is a relief Admittedly it does need reapplying during the day, but then that's not a deal breaker for me.

I've never been too keen on coloured lipglosses, but omg, this is amazing. It's so creamy and glides on so smoothly, I really like the applicator. It's more of a liquid lip stick. I've been putting it on and then wiping off the excess so it stains my lips. JUJU is a gorgeous colour.

I've had this product for nearly a year or just over and use it all the time mine is nearly finished but I would never go anywhere else or another brand for lipstick it is long lasting for even when you go out for a meal it stays on throughout the day!

I usually rant about how much I love everything about bare minerals but this one isn't for me. Pros: Fantastic colour payoff, smells incredible (like a cake!#, lips felt nourished. Cons #for me): Definitely dried on, I prefer the sort of feeling balms/glosses give, rather than a dry lip feeling. Having said that, I'm not sure it's possible to have a matte colour and not have that feeling. I think if you're looking for a matte lipcolour, you can't go far wrong with this one.

I had cookie, it just did not look right on my older lips (60). But I gave it to my daughter (32) with medium foundation skin tone and WoW, modern, and just made her lips look better than anything else she has used.

I have always been wary of matte lip products as any I have tried previously have been very drying. Unfortunately this one was fairly similar. It didn't feel drying and went on smoothly which was a plus. But it did go flaky and patchy after an hour or so. I made sure that my lips had been lightly exfoliating and primed however this made no difference to the longevity of the product. The rest of the GEN NUDE products are fabulous but this one was not for me.

I was sent Cookie to try, and while the shade doesn't necessarily suit me as well as I would like (my lips are darker than Cookie), it's the lipcolour itself that I am not a fan of. I have used some matte lipcolour from Bare Minerals before in a red shade that I really love, but this nude shade just doesn't work on me. I had to put two coats on so my natural lip colour didn't show through, and regardless of how many coats I put on, the colour would start to settle in the lines in my lips quickly. It just doesn't have very even coverage, and I found the matte formula to be a bit dry and not as comfortable to wear as other lipcolours. I might try a darker shade in this line, but I don't think this would be my first choice for Bare Minerals lipcolour.
