Love, love this foundation. Have always used matte loose powder but this is fantastic.
This is amazing! It does initially look a little orange but after 5 mins or so it's almost invisible yet gives really good coverage. I'm 45 so need to make sure my face is well moisturised but it does not sit in any creases, wrinkles or the pores round my nose. I just use the little sponge that came with the compact and find this works really well.
I loved the old one and my shade was light neutral 09. It was the perfect blend for my light, slightly olive skintone. I've spent lots of money on this new formula ( to get the same shade match). After many ££ spent I have ended up using light cool 22 ( which they reccomended anyway as a match for the original shade). I feel like it's a bit deeper, but I I like it. The other shades ( neutrals ) all looked very orange on me. After realising there's a technique to how to apply this, it actually has been wonderful and the coverage is great and also, it doesn't break me out !. I always use a moisturiser or serum before I apply it. That really helps the application!. Also I use the BARE PRO FOUNDATION TRAVEL BRUSH to apply it. ( It is nice and soft and apply's it beautifully and I just build it up). I did buy the LUXE PERFORMANCE brush as they reccomend but to be honest I hate that brush. The other brush is waaaaay better!.
I think the foundation is going to be okay once I get the colour right. I used the shade match chart and chose the equivalent shade to the previous version of the foundation (which was the perfect colour) but it is slightly too dark and a bit on the orangy side. This is annoying because of wasting the money.
I'm sure there's a good reason why BM changed the formula and colour names of their barepro, but it certainly isn't for the better. This is more like powder, less like foundation, just not nearly as good as it was.
I loved the sateen 05 pressed powder and happily bought the recommended Fair Cool 15, however it's darker and doesn't suit me and the 10 shades are too light (verified in store by a BM beautician). Sadly I have to change manufacturer .... please sort this out Bare Minerals!
First time I can get a good shade for me with Bare Minerals - Medium Neutral 30 works well with my neutral light brown skin tone. However, formula is incredibly difficult to apply and cakes regardless of how this applies. It also sits in fine lines / open pores /textured skin - so I would say this is only for use for those under 40 years old and with perfect skin. Finally it is very glowy for a 'naturally matte' foundation - I end up very shiny when I use this and I don't normally shine with other make up brands. It also does nothing to perfect skin, like other foundations may do. So disappointed.
There was not a loose powder of my colour available due to stock issues, so I purchased a different product after testing in store as I love the bare minerals products. However the powder in the compact has all broken up really quickly, if the compact was slightly deeper set it wouldn't be such a problem but it's just making a mess and I'm loosing product which is expensive.
I was late to discover that the old BarePro powder compact was being replaced. However I had confidence in Bareminerals and bought the recommended corresponding shade in the new 16H version. I'm so disappointed. Within two days the compact has broken up, resulting in my losing lots of expensive foundation and creating annoying mess. On top of which the formulation is nothing like the fine, luxurious, buildable finish of the old BarePro. Even the most careful dab or light swipe of the brush picks up so much product, that it's very difficult to build in the same way and coupled with the crumbling effect which only seems to worsen as time goes on, means that it very wasteful as you almost always use or lose more powder than you need. The colour (Fair 15 Neutral for the old Aspen) is also not the same as the old one - the tone is more orange and of course this isn't helped by the inability to apply very fine layers. What on earth have you done, Bareminerals?! I use a huge range of BareMinerals skincare and makeup and have never been so thoroughly disappointed, it's a real turn-off that the company has produced such a poor product. This claggy, disintegrating foundation isn't a patch on the old BarePro.
I have used Barepro for a number of years now, I went for a colour match as the products have changed and find the new one nowhere as good as the old product. It crumbles straight away when I put my brush on and wearing it doesn't give a smooth coverage, is cakey and patchy. Very disappointed and not sure what to do now as I don't want to wear this foundation.
