We tried the pasta three different ways over the course of a couple of weeks and it worked well for our family meals. The first time we cooked it as a side dish tossed in homemade pesto served with grilled chicken and it was a big hit. Then my picky teen cooked it as an after school snack just tossed in a little butter and salt. She didn't realise it had the addtional protein and thought it was just like her regular rotini which was a bonus. The final meal we cooked a traditional bolenese sauce and served it over the rotini - everyone enjoyed it. The pasta was tasty and held its own with and without sauces - we would definitely buy it again as the extra protein is a definite bonus when dealing with picky teenagers. We did receive the pasta for free in exchange for this review - this was why we tried it several ways before writing the review.
I wasn't sure that I was going to like this because I've tried chickpea pasta in the past and wasn't a fan. I was shocked to find that this tastes exactly like regular pasta! I also definitely got fuller faster than I normally do with pasta. I love this stuff and will absolutely purchase it again in place of regular pasta. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
I was skeptical if my family would enjoy this as we've tried the healthier pastas in the past but something was always off. But I figured we should give it a try when I received this for free in exchange for a review. To my surprise no one suspected this was different from our usual pasta brand! It has the same yummy taste and texture expected from Barilla but with extra protein to keep you full longer.
I've tried other legume-based pastas that were either too chewy/gummy or gave the family gas. We all loved this meal! I boiled it for about 5 minutes then used it in a baked veggie pasta dish. It took on the flavors well and held up wonderfully! Not too soft, perfect bite! Will definitely use again!
My family and I LOVE pasta. But i need to cut back and i also wish it were heathier. With Barilla Protein+ i feel that i'm providing a more heartier meal so maybe we don't need to eat as much pasta as we might normally because we feel fuller. The pasta texture itself is very similar to non protein pasta. I would not be able to tell the difference. Family enjoyed it. I made it with pesto and tomatoes and it was gone very quickly. I would definitely recommend this!
I was sent this to try free, and I have to say that I'm thrilled with how good it was! I have a large family to feed, and a typical box of pasta is usually gone in one dinner. I used this for ricotta pesto and it was amazing. Not only that, but it was very filling so we actually had leftovers. The biggest win was that the 4yo I care for, who is a picky eater, also loved it!
I received this product for free in exchange for writing an honest review of this product.I really enjoyed cooking these noodles. The taste was presently good surprisingly. I thought it would taste grainy but did not. I created a Alfredo dish and it blended well with the sauce. I would recommend this product as an alternative to the regular starchy pastas
Love this pasta but the shipping packaging allowed for the boxes of pasta to be smashed. Should have been boxed rather than sent in large envelope style packaging.
I ordered this pasta as a Walmart pickup, but when I got to the store they were out of it, so my only option was to cancel it or have it shipped for free. As this is the only pasta my family eats, I chose to have it shipped. It came a week after I ordered it and all of the boxes were completely opened inside the package and all of the pasta was emptied out. Turns out it wasn't even shipped by Walmart, but some random seller. My only option now is to “return” it, but how I'd have to re-package it and bring it to the post office, which will be a nightmare the week before Christmas. So annoying!
I ordered protein pasta and received gluten free pasta completely wrong item. Not only were they wrong they were damaged.
