Barska Starwatcher 60050 Refractor Telescope

I truly enjoy my telescope. I get to see the stars and everything else very clearly.

This was a birthday gift for my 9 year old grandson. He loved it, has been using it every night for a week now. Good quality for the price, definitely not a toy.

This Telescope works well, and has so many magnifying glasses that we are still trying to figure out how to work it, but overall, great buy!

I actually bought this for myself to see if I really wanted to go further in studying the stars without investing a lot of money first. It was very easy to assemble and extremely light weight. It definitely held my interest. Now while I shop for a high powered telescope, the kids love this. They stay focused and like the learning experience. Great way to spend time! For the price, this is a good buy.

My mother and father bought this for my daughter and she's only 4 so it was a decent starter telescope.

I bought this as a starter telescope for my daughter. We set it up and looked up at the sky to see nothing. I tried different lenses and still nothing. This didn't habe much of an instruction book and came with no cd (at other retailers it does..same model and everything). I didn't expect much. I just expected it to do as was claimed in the description portion. This will be going back.

The scope is not very user friendly and only allows you to see about 100 yards away. I am completely unable to see stars (the reason for making the purchase)

I received this as a Christmas gift a almost two years ago because I have always wanted a telescope. The instructions on the set up could have been done by a 5 year old. Unfortunately, 5 adults including myself have tried to see ANYTHING through the finder piece and the eyepiece and can see nothing except 3 dots. We even tried during the day as suggested in the "manual" and what we were able to see was upside down. I have taken the lenses out and turned them around and nothing works. Even the Barska Astronomy Software with Video Training DVD that came with it my computer says is blank. What a piece of junk. Please save yourself from the aggravation and spend a little more money and purchase a telescope that you can see something through.
