You must put in all screws before tightening. They should reverse the bottom so inside is smooth.

I am very happy with my purchase. Even though this is called a backyard patio deck box, I actually use it for indoors. I needed a storage box for pillows and blankets, it matched my Lanai furniture and it fits right under my window where my fur babies sit and watch all the action going on outside. After reading some of the reviews I was skeptical but so happy I decided to purchase it.

Make sure to leave the screws loose during assembly as some tweaking is required for screw hole alignment. Otherwise you will not be able to insert the screws as the chest assembly is nearly complete. If you force them in the threaded holes you might strip the threads. I stripped one. I'd advise having a flat blade screw driver available to act as a pry bar to assist in aligning the screw holes as needed. The other thing is the bottom of the bench inside, while metal framed is covered with a thin transparent corrugated plastic which looks to be easily poked through. Overall the chest looks good quality except for the very cheap inside bottom plastic covered panel. It has plenty of space inside and weight capacity on the top is easily 300 or more pounds.

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I wanted a box that matched my furniture that could be sat on under my patio cover. That said, if anyone is looking at this box, it is not waterproof. The nature of the wicker weave will let a heavy rain in if its out in the open. Also, the bottom of the box is a flimsy plastic. I reinforced it with plywood because I didn't want the plastic cracking under the weight of a heavy object. But would be fine for patio cushions. I am using this box for gardening tools, etc. assembly instructions werent the greatest, but I was able to figure it out.

This item was received a little damaged. The tabs used to screw everything together were bent. The tabs are soldered onto the frame so bending the tabs back to where they should be makes the solder weaker. This will probably effect the long term use. Also, this is a good looking deck box but don't expect to store anything heavier than pillows or dry towels as the whole bottom of this box is a flimsy plastic. I could not submit my photos from my mac book as they are "not a supported file".

The lid, which is pre-attached, does not align so it won't properly close. Rattan is brittle and the corner arrived cracked. Unfortunately, I did not open my box prior to the 90 day return policy so I'm stuck with it.
