Battery Tender 4 Amp, 6V or 12V Selectable Battery Charger, New

Bought this to maintain my personal truck battery because I only drive it on the weekend and I was having a problem with a parasitic draw. I have since fixed that but still use it because why not? I bought a pig tail from Amazon to hardwire this up to my battery from the bumper. So I took the alligator clips off and the cable plugs right into the cable I wired straight to the battery terminals. I have a video but this app only allows

Lives up to my previous experience with the Battery Tender brand: but works with either 6 or 12 volt batteries and both charges and maintains them. This is relatively new, but if it maintains battery health for years st a time with infrequently used auto batteries as prior units it will be an ideal solution to battery maintenance in infrequently used batteries.

Ive been using Battery Tender products sonce the 90s. Recently bought a Porsche and connected one of my older BTs only to find it never indicated a fully charged battery. After reading, I learned today's new batteries are of a different type, which this model handles. It 100% solved the problem. I connect it with a quick-connect lead that's permanently connected to the terminals. Works like a charm

I have owned a few Battery Tenders over 10 years. Only one, old-style metal one, failed after being left out in the elements and harsh desert sunshine for a few years. I had forgotten it. The new ones seemed sealed real well. I have a few vehicles that can sit unused for months and in one case 2 years. A dead battery from neglect is expensive and frustrating. After replacing 2 expensive batteries I decided to find a solution. With these Battery Tenders, I keep the pig-tail dual-wire plugs always attached to the main clamps on the installed car battery for a solid connection. It makes it easy to swap cars and battery connections from car to car. 3 of my cars have the pig-tails permanently on. The two-wire pig-tail plugs into the cable attached to the wall powered Battery Tender. A yellow LED comes on if the battery is charging. It turns green once it's charged. That's all there is to it. The Battery Tender electrically exercises the internal battery plates in the battery acid over time. I don't understand the science much. But it works well for me. I had my Chevrolet Tahoe plugged into one for 2 years while it went under a slow renovation. I was able to start the car easily every month or so. After 2 years there was some white corrosion showing around the battery posts. But it started every time, and now that I drive the truck daily, the battery continues starting easily and quickly. That same Battery Tender is now on another car while I work on it. I swear by these things.

The battery tender keeps my battery charged while I am not using the car. On cold mornings it is nice to have that full charge when starting the car. I am so happy that I puirchased this item.

The Battery Tender 4 Amp charger was connected to a 12V, lead acid battery in a car that was not driven for 2-1/2 months. After the charger was disconnected, the car started with no problem.

Easy to understand instructions. Unit has a long enough cord thankfully. Do wish that the clamps were slightly bigger to attach easier to battery terminals. Otherwise great unit I recommend.

It works great and charges both of my 6-volt batteries. For large batteries like that, make sure to unplug and plug back in when it stops, by default, if your battery takes longer than 24 hours. It has a built-in stop after a long period.

very convenient because not only is it a maintainer but a charger. i keep it on my corvette during the winter. battery is always ready to fire up after months of sitting
