Bought for my nursery and was shipped sooner than expected, easy to assemble and comfy. The Quality of the wood legs is excellent. It is a narrow rocker So I wouldntso I wouldnt recommend for larger people.
Awesome rocker it's comfortable. My wife and I enjoy it very much.
This chair is super cute! Exactly as I imagined it. The grey piece was already assembled, leaving just 5 pieces of the wooden rocker base to assemble, which I did in 20-30 minutes. Super easy! It looks great in our nursery and we are excited to use it when baby comes! It is a little more stiff, as many other reviews have noted, but I think it is really supportive that way. I am a little short for it (5'5"") and have to rock using my tip toes. My husband who is 6'0"" fits it really well. This chair looks so chic and I love it!
I bought this for my son's nursery. It looks nearly indistinguishable from the ones I saw in high end stores for $1000. It's really heavy, and the base appears to be constructed out of solid wood. The fabric (I got the gray) seems sturdy enough and the color was exactly as expected based on the picture. It appears to be a tight weave that won't snag easily. (That's important to me because I have animals.) I'm really happy with the purchase.
Wow - I can not say enough great things about this rocker. We needed something that would fit in our small NYC apartment and all the rockers out there are massive, not to mention very expensive. We love the modern look of this and have it in our living room for now, very comfortable, easy to assemble and great quality. Purchasing from Jet could not have been a better experience, great customer service, free shipping, perfect condition and best of all - $30 cheaper than on any other site selling the exact same thing! I have now purchased 2 other big nursery items from Jet and plan to buy more.
I had previously marked this rocking chair 1 star in a separate review because the first one we purchased arrived damaged and it took some time for a replacement, BUT, Hayneedle was great and we eventually received the replacement. That being said, I absolutely LOVE this rocking chair after having used it daily for 7 months. It's in our baby's room, and I use it primarily for nursing/soothing him. I added a lumbar pillow for extra support, but some of the features I love: 1.) High back so you can rest your neck/head (so important!). 2.) Low arms on the sides - it's really difficult to nurse a baby if the arms of a rocking chair are too high...you become ""trapped"", and these arms are the absolute perfect height! 3.) Perfect width and comfortable cushion. Some nursing sessions can be 45 minutes long, so having a comfortable place to sit is key. Overall, I highly recommend this chair and it fits both my husband and I great (I am 5'5"" and my husband is 5'10"").
Bought this for our nursery. It's a beautiful chair and looks exactly as pictured. I love the high back and low arm rests. The fabric is of high quality. Is firm at first but softens after use. What I love most is that this chair could easily transition to other rooms in our home.
Love the chair itself - frustrating experience with Hayneedle. ::REVIEW FOR HAYNEEDLE:: 1- Didn't get any notification item was on backorder, just noticed when I checked myself. 2- They said I'd get email notifications about it - received nothing. 3- Ordered with matching ottoman. When it was sent, I received 2 ottomans and no chair 4- Contacted Hayneedle, had me send back the extra ottoman and they gave me a whopping $12 off my chair because I was receiving it 12 days later than promised. Asked to get free expedited shipping, nothing. Customer support was nice and friendly, but sort of useless. ::REVIEW FOR CHAIR:: - Not too soft, not too hard - Set up took maybe 30 minutes for 2 people. Screwing it together was a bit annoying, but not difficult or complicated. - Seems to be fairly sturdy - I can rest my head against it (5'-8"") and rock easily with feet on floor - Arms are at good height - intending on using it as a nursing rocker
I love the look of this chair. It's exactly what I wanted. However, I'm disappointed with everything else. For starters, the chair isn't super comfortable to sit in, its pretty firm. We placed it in my daughter's nursery to rock her in at night. When you rock, the chair slides along the carpet so eventually you end up on the other side of the room. Kind of annoying. Maybe i'll look to putting some grippers on the bottom to keep it from sliding. My last complaint is in regards to assembly. When we received the chair, it was missing the washers. Not a huge deal, but we had to go to the hardware store to get the missing pieces to keep the bolts from loosening. Also, the wooden dowels were too big for the predrilled holes. So when you pushed them into the holes, it cracked the wooden supports a little. (see picture) You can't tell once it's put together but it makes you wonder about the overall stability. I really wanted to love this chair and maybe I will once we make some adjustments and give it some time to break it in.
Pros: Arrived quickly; appears sturdy Cons: Directions - not very clear; Materials: has wooden dowels to be inserted that are very tight; have already broken one so project is now on hold until I can locate another dowel. When I attempted to remove the broken dowel, it pretty much turned to sawdust. Instructions do not mention gluing the dowels in place, but on-line research all mention the use of glue with dowel pegs! Color grey is very light; in some lighting in my house, almost looks brown/tweed-like fabric. It may never get assembled, and just go out to the trash. Not quite happy about it right now.
