I prefer Bays English muffins because they are more size uniform %26 the pre-slice pulls apart without a knife or fork. The flavor is excellent too. Apparently my local WalMart stores no longer sell them. They have been listed “out of stock” for about 8 weeks.
I tried these out after liking the original Bays muffins, and these definitely lean more on the “treat yourself” side of breakfast. The biggest difference is the flavor—you get that buttery, slightly sweet brioche taste that makes them feel a little more indulgent than your standard English muffin. Texture-wise, they're softer right out of the package, but once you toast them, they still get a nice crisp on the outside while staying fluffy inside. They work really well for breakfast sandwiches, but honestly, they shine the most with something simple like butter or jam. Pros: Buttery, slightly sweet flavor — gives them a more “premium” feel compared to regular muffins Soft texture that toasts well — crispy outside, fluffy inside Versatile — great for sweet or savory meals (sandwiches, jam, even French toast-style ideas) Cons: Sweeter than traditional muffins — might not be ideal if you prefer a more neutral base Still needs refrigeration (like other Bays products) — less convenient than pantry bread Pre-sliced isn't perfect — you may need to separate them fully by hand Summary: These are a nice upgrade if you want something a little richer than a standard English muffin. They're not everyday “plain” muffins—they're more of a buttery, slightly sweet option that feels a bit more indulgent. If you like brioche bread in general, these are an easy win and a solid switch-up for your breakfast routine.
Purchased these to make a different kind of eggs benedict and boy these did not disappoint!!! They have so much more flavor than plain English muffins. After toasting them they still have a nice soft texture which my family prefers. Will definitely purchase again
These are the best English muffins!! They don't have that weird flavor that I find most English muffins have and they don't seem to dry out so quickly.
Love the taste of these especially when I make sausage sandwiches for breakfast. I use the Walmart brand maple sausages add slice of cheese and toast these brioche muffins… amazing!!
We love these very tasty English muffins. We make sure to always have these on hand and will not buy any others.
One of the best English muffins ever. Only slightly sweet, and when you toast it you can imagine you're in a bakery. Try it now. Seriously.
This is the second week we think we have Ordered regular sliced English Muffins and we get Brioche. I was even aware when choosing authorized alternatives. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
And I really like English muffins for homemade mc muffins and also just toasted and butter sometimes. I hardly ever buy brioche for the price and nutrition, so it's more of a treat. I also love sweet and savory together for breakfast. Whether it's eggs, bacon and pancakes with butter and syrup, or maybe maple sausage with toast and eggs w/cheese...so I thought this would be a win. Bays needs to stay with their traditional English muffins. I eat their regular varieties but sadly, this is the one and only time for the brioche muffins. I did not like the smell, taste, nor the texture. When I want a treat, I will buy brioche, as in the bread.
I purchased two pkgs of Bay's sour dough english muffins and one pkg of Brioche english muffins. All three pkgs are dry and tough. How does that happen with an expiration date of 2/26? The last Bay's muffins I bought were fresh and tasted great. The ones I received yesterday are awful. Unfortunately, I've experienced the same thing with the Thomas brand at this location.
