BBC Earth Grow & Discover Crystal Aquarium Kit, Kids STEM Science Experiment Set for Boys and Girls, Ages 6+

They are gifts for my Grandsons I was looking for something that was different and reasonably priced my son said they would all love them so we shall see Christmas morning.

Item arrived in quickly in great condition.

Looking forward to see the excitement on my granddaughters face when we give it to her on her birthday!

The item goes along well with other similar items I have purchased. I was able to purchase this item at a good sale price.

My boys are 5 and 7. They loved making it however, the crystals did not grow very big/tall. The containers that it comes with is plastic and does not have a lid. We did put it in a different container with a lid. We have definitely had better versions from Discovery/BBC.

This is a gift for child out of state. Not interactive. Fill with water and look at it. Quality unknown.

I bought this to do with my 7 year old son. We had a blast getting everything out and set up but were disappointed in the crystal growth. I had mixed feelings with this kit. It came with easy to follow instructions and also a guide that explains the science of underwater rock formation. It came with 4 different color rocks. The instructions say to break each one into smaller pieces, this was really hard to do as they were literally hard as a rock. The set comes with a clear, see through tank but it does not come with a cover, which led to a small mess. Adult supervision and help is required! You will need to help your child mix the chemicals. I highly recommend to have disposable glives on hand as this does not come with gloves. You will also need something to mix the chemicals in, I used an old bowl and then threw it away after mixing. You will need a straw or a disposable spoon as well to move the rocks into place once you pour the mixture in. The instructions state that you should not get the mixture on your hands. The instructions state that your crystals should grow in 6 hours. I took a picture at 6 hours and then again the next day, one of the rocks did good but the others either didn't grow any crystals or very small ones. We were disappointed in the results we got vs the picture shown on the box.

Only 1 of the grow tablets produced more than one crystal formation all of the other tablets only had one small crystal formation grow from them. The tallest crystal is only about an inch and half tall everything else is an inch or less Nothing like pictured on the box. My granddaughter was very disappointed as was I. It was a waste of money.
