Purchased online for our 8 year old grandson, we were greatly impressed with Walmart's easy pickup and purchase process. We are in California and our daughter picked it up at the store near her home two states away. It is wonderful that it has a wide range of gears, is extremely sturdy, and was a terrific price for the great quality. Our grandson loves his bike and rides it every chance he gets, given the time of year! So glad we bought this bike. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a beginner mountain bike.
My 5 year old begged for this bike for Christmas (he is tall and almost 6) He hopped on right away and rode perfectly. Still getting used to his gears, they are a bit difficult to maneuver but everything else about the bike seems perfect!
Son saw this bike and fell in love immediately. Loves the color especially the detail of the blue on the rims.
Santa's elves did an excellent job building this bike. They should be cimmended. It even has a kickstand!
Son wanted a gear bike and this was the best looking bike at a good price. Ordered online for same day store pickup, was assembled and ready for pickup. Only used for a week so far, but has survived crashes, falls, etc.
Wonderful bike for the casual rider. Sturdy, well put together, easy to use. My son needs practice to learn to shift the speeds but so far, very happy with the bike.
Kids to Adult can ride this bike...nice bike
There's no doubt this is a great looking bike! My 7.5 year old son is average height (4'2") and at the lowest seat setting he barely gets to his tiptoes, but I like that he can grow into it. The only negative for us, is that he has a hard time shifting, as the grip hurts his hands. Hoping he just gets used to it, I don't have a problem when I ride it...
This is a nice bike as far as durability and structure. If it were just a 1 speed, I'd rate it 5 stars. When it comes to switching gears, it is WAY too hard for a child. My son is nine and gets blisters on his thumb and hand switching the gears. The gears are also marked wrong. Where the 1-6 are listed is not the gear you are in. Gear 1 is about 2cm above the 1 mark. So you have to go through all the gears counting to figure out what gear you are actually in.
We followed the instructions to the T for set up and while the bike is sleek and built "tough" we have found one major flaw. Adjusting the gears is near impossible! My 12 year old simply cannot adjust the gears below a 6. My husband... can barely adjust the gear below a 4. I am not sure if it is just our bike, the way it was made or heck the way it was put together but needless to say my son's legs are getting a work out!
