They had us at "it's five o'clock somewhere" decal and the playful parrot horn, bright electric blue color of the bike with orange wheel wells and built-in bottle opener. Took my engineer BF a couple hours to assemble but he's loving it riding around the rural island we live on.
I purchased this bike for a Christmas gift for my husband. He loved it. It was quite a hit with everyone who came by for the holiday. The bike was preassembled and with some adjustment of the brakes and tightening up, it was ready to go. It's a great old guy cruiser.
Bike is an excellent value for the price. Assembled in the U.S.A. It is very sturdy, rides well and is very handy for short shopping trips, exercise, or trip to the local pub. The men and women's bikes were bought and are used by us around our house and will be used when camping this summer. We are 55 and 60 and have ridden as far as 15 miles round trip with no fatigue, the 7 speeds are perfect for hills and speed on level ground. assembly is simple for those with mechanical aptitude, otherwise have them professionally assembled as brake and shifter adjustments are needed as well as some allen sockets that aren't in the average home toolbox.
My friend told me of this Margaritaville bike on sale. He lives in Arizona. It was on sale for $50 off at the time. So I got it for $99. And free shipping! I live in Washington State but visit friends in Phoenix often. Since I have a bike at home, I had it sent to my friends house in Phoenix. Last time I visited him, we couldn't ride together because he only has one bike. He put it together, so when I arrived to visit, it was ready to go. He tested it before I got there and said it rides better than his Schwinn and wished he would have got one too. So he actually sold his Schwinn and bought the Margaritaville bike too. The first time we rode we got 4 compliments. Everyone said how beautiful the bikes are. And they loved the Parrot horn.
Although it was tricky to get it back to the house without a bike rack, the bike itself is just as advertised and quite fun. The colors are bright and gorgeous, the extra speed options are a nice plus. Nice tires for many surfaces, decently sized basket and of course the parrot horn makes it perfect for our trips in Low Country, SC. It's essential to have it come assembled!!
This bike was a birthday present for my husband. He wanted a coaster bike with a few speeds and thats exactly what this is. All the extras was just gravy for him. He love the Parrot horn and brasket as well as a water bottle holder and bottle opener. Everyone wishes they had all of those extras. It's not a real serious cycle, just A great cruiser. A bit of a challenge to put together.
This bike came very well packaged. I haven't assemble a bicycle in about 45 years and was concerned about getting it done without killing myself. The instructions were very explanatory and easy to follow. The bike is well made and makes a statement with it badging. Great purchase and great value.
Purchased for $99 to use around a college campus. Nice bicycle for that purpose (after I removed the decals and the parrot!). The built in rack is particularly good, welded so no screws to come loose and no additional cost. Full fenders for all weather riding. The one flaw is that it is not really sized for me. At 5'10" I am at the top of the advertised range. However, an $8 seat post took care of the issue. Added a large basket for $30 and my campus cruiser takes me 4 miles to campus and back like a charm. I did need to adjust the brakes and gearing, if you're not up to this take it to a shop for a tune up.
I do love this bike. Great design, the seat is comfortable, and I like both the basket and the little storage rack on the back. Customer service to pick up the bike was good as well. The downside to this purchase was the bike came assembled. I am not sure if it was done in the store or at the point of manufacture but it was a poor assembly at best. The gears were off, handle bar was not tightened, the seat was loose, and the gear cover rubs on the gear spoke. The tires were also flat at the time of purchase. Once those items were taken care of the bike ran fairly smoothly. The only other issue I had at the time of purchase was the greeter who chased me out to the parking lot to check my receipt and didn't know how to read the online receipt. I am not sure why she did this since no alarm went off, but she was truly perplexed on how to handle the situation.
I bought this bike only a day ago and I was riding home from a friends house. What happened? The pedal broke. If this had been a couple months down the way, I would have dismissed it as just things happening, but less than a day? I would definitely not recomend this to anyone.
