worked great
First off, I don't have kids. Then ""why did you buy the child safety strap lock?"" you wonder. I have a sneaky 18.5 lb. cat, who last week decided that if I wouldn't feed him when he's peckish in the middle of the night, he would try opening my refrigerator himself. Unfortunately he was successful at his attempt. While I'm a considerate cat maid, that doesn't include waking up in the middle of the night to feed him... unless my cat starts to do the hairball hack, then it's amazing how fast a maid (or butler) can wake up and spring out of bed. But I digress, after it happened a second time, I realized a child lock for my fridge was needed right away. The timing of the delivery couldn't have been better. This was so easy to install and now i don't have to worry about my cat opening my refrigerator anymore.
We were experiencing issues with refrigerator piarates at my job - so I ordered this lock. It is strong, easy to install, and easy to use. In addition to keeping “refrigerator pirates” from taking things out of my refrigerator, it offers a sense of security- protecting me from things being added to my food without my knowledge. I would definitely recommend for anyone with a personal refrigerator in an office.
These are the most incredible things for child-proofing I have found so far. My 1-year-old loves to get into our lazy susans... and those are hard to child-proof! We looked at some other child-proofing mechanisms for lazy-susans but they were going to require us to drill into our cabinets and did not seem that easy to ""unlock"" for us adults in the house. These safety strap locks just use sticky adhesion - so no drilling, I installed them in about 25 seconds, they are strong against my son, and they are very very easy for an adult to unlock.
Every time my 18 month old was suddenly quiet and not in my direct sight I would come to find her happily loading up our toilet with toilet paper. I found this product and purchased it given the good reviews and price. I’m happy to say it was super easy to install and easy for adults to quickly unlatch. I found given the shape of my toilet I had to place the latch in the front. If you can place yours more on the side that would be ideal so the strap won’t be hanging between your legs while you are using the toilet. Oh and most importantly- I’ve won this battle with my toddler. Is it wrong to laugh at a baby as they try to open the toilet lid?
I have these locks in 4 places fridge/freezer, pantry door and bathroom closet. All 4 locks are on different surfaces. All 4 hold tightly and securely. My partner and I both tried to pull the handles on the doors and we got enough resistance to feel satisfied that our toddler won't be able to bust in. I have tried other safety locks but this is the only one to keep my three old out of trouble.
So far so good, we use them to lock our desk drawers. My toddler pulls on them and fiddles with them a bit but, hasn't broken the locks or pulled them off yet. I still wouldn't leave your toddler alone in a room for long lengths of time to pull at the locks especially if there is anything dangerous you locked up to begin with. They were easy to stick on after cleaning the area and come with adhesive pads and keys. They are good enough to keep supervised toddlers out of stuff but, if your looking to lock up money or other valuables I'd get something better or a safe.
I thought it came with a set of 2 keys but it only came with one
