BD XpressSteam Cord Reel Iron

I had a B&D iron for over 25 yrs. and it finally died some years ago. I find my new one is just as great as my old one. WHY did I stray from a known reliable product to begin with. I, like a fool, followed the footsteps of friends and spent a fortune on a new iron, with a great reputation. It leaked, steam was iffy, got it replace and it was bad. So I CAME BACK to a RELIABLE company, with a RELIABLE PRODUCT.

It is just perfect. Everything that was said about this iron is true. It irons the clothes fast.

This iron is very lightweight and heats up quickly, so happy I replaced my old iron.

I would like a cordless but this the next best thing. I just love not having to deal with the cord and I also love the self clean option. I hated having to clean my old iron!

I bought this to replace an old Black & Decker iron that I loved. This iron does not indicate when it is hot enough and it does "spit" the whole time I am ironing. I have tried to let it warm up longer but it makes no difference.

The cable is not working

This iron is just okay - not great. What's good: lightweight, handles nicely, cord storage. What needs to be re-engineered: Cord does not retract easily, water tank is too opaque - hard to see water level, the fill hole is too small and at an angle that makes filling awkward. Really, don't the people who design these things actually try them out??!

My wife bought this iron because of the automatic cord feature.The problem is that it never retracts all the way and you have to try several times before it goes completely back in.

I bought this iron to do work with fuse beads, and I am very disappointed. The iron heats quickly but the head is uneven which is not ideal for a consistent melt of the beads. Maybe it would work better on clothing? I also found that it kept going into auto shut off mode while I was still using it. Very frustrating because it would cool down and I'd be left wondering why. The light flashes when it's no longer heating but my hand covers the light while using it, and I have small hands. And lastly the retractable cord doesn't retract very well. It is a long cord though. I will be returning it.

I would not recommend this product. It drips water constantly from somewhere around the filler, even though it is not overfilled and the temperature is set to a steam setting. When it is set to steam sometimes it just stops steaming even though there is plenty of water in the reservoir.
