Be Still DVD -

We watched the first section, "Contemplative Prayer", at our women's Bible study and had rave reviews about it. First, one should know that it is probably not going to be as helpful for new Christians who are still learning the basics of faith. But for any believer who understands the importance of Scripture, has maybe hit a 'wall' in their devotional life and/or wants to learn how to hear and see God work more in their life, this DVD is INVALUABLE. As to the accusations of New Age mysticism...Christians have engaged in contemplative prayer for centuries and certainly much longer than any New Ager has been around for. In fact, I'm pretty sure listening for and to God was how the authors of Scripture came to write the Bible...

I enjoyed hearing how others interpreted what God's word says about being still. I enjoyed the short DVD and would recommend it to others.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend; but I would be sure they understood that it is not a video story as such. The "Be Still" theme is a little shallow but does have meaning. It is something like a classroom lecture where you already know more on the subject than the lecturer is presenting. The secondary sessions do not add significantly to the over all story. But overall, it has significant truth.

Nothing more than a poorly structured infomercial for the new age contemplatives. This is an exercise in eastern mysticism and is NOT a biblical practice-CHRISTIANS BEWARE! Even though there are some Christian "celebrities" appearing on this dvd endorsing this activity, be sure to look MUCH deeper than the superficial info this dvd provides.
