OK to use on the crab ring but need to be careful.
This bait barrel is good looking, the barrel itself is well constructed. But the problem is that the hinge that connect to the screw on cap is made out of a small plastic bridge that push into two holes on the cap. I hook the cap on the smaller ring of my crab ring, after several cast out, the entire bait barrel including the cap came off. Luckily, it stay on the crab ring. I have to tie a string around the barrel and secured it on the bottom of the crab ring to prevent it from coming off again.
