The original design is so pretty, but these earrings feel cheap. They are extremely lightweight, and there is a groove at the back that they don't show you to use less metal. The setting for the stone and the hook are stamped, but the design around the stone is not. Still, even with the stamp, I still don't trust that it is silver. The hooks are very thin and misshapen that i feel they would hurt to put/stay in. There is also a distinct sound as they dangle that reminds me of cheap metal.
If they are costume jewelry, they should be advertised as such instead of the “18k gold over sterling silver,” which would be false advertising if it's not. Since I have my doubts and have a pretty bad allergy, I'm going to be buying a gold and silver testing kit before I put these anywhere near my ears. I will update this when I have the results. It's more money than I originally intended to spend, but it's better than having a reaction.
