I picked this for my nephew, who has always preferred exploring the great outdoors over playing with traditional toys. The camera is tough, easy for smaller hands to hold, and the built-in screen is sharp. The adjustable LED lights worked great in dark spaces, and the photos come out clear! The cons: first, if you get stuck in the image playback menu, you have to long-press the middle button with the circular arrows for a few seconds to exit back to the live camera view. Second, the included USB cord is strictly for charging the battery and doesn't transfer data to a computer. To get photos off the device, I put the memory card into my cell phone to move them. It is a great STEM tool for your little explorer.

I got it for my little nephews but I'm having fun with it. What a fun exploring tool! Most important, no proprietary charger, I can use my Android charger cord. I'm looking forward to peeking into bird houses. So much to see outdoors with almost 2 and half inch screen, much better than eyepiece we used as kids. Feels like durable plastic for little hands to carry around on adventures. It is waterproof but remember only the camera lens and hose are waterproof; the screen unit should be kept dry. No diving with it. I love that it save up to 100 photos and videos. This is a new learning toy to me, and I love that it has a lot of technology but still gets kids outside.
