This meat is GREAT! I understand after reading the reviews, that most poeple were upset because this was sustituted for stew meat, didn't receive it or received the wrong amount. Receiving the wrong item is on the person ordering, pick a sub or tell the shopper "No substitutions!" The rest of it is due to shopper error, nothing to do with the actual meat item! Leave notes! Shoppers aren't mind readers! This meat has has little to no fat, and a larger profile than ground meat. Perfect for my street tacos, Beef, barley and veggie soup, Crack Slaw, Pepper Steak, Taco salad, Chili, etc. Highly recommend!
I accidentally bought this thinking I was getting Stew meat for soup. I went ahead and used it and really liked it very well. I found it was smaller bite-size pieces and I didn't have to go back and cut up stew meat like I usually do. Also was not aware that this was available to make tacos. Will be buying it for that use also.
This was my first time buying these fine cubes, and they didn't disappoint. They are high quality, juicy, and have almost no fat to trim. Because they are cut so small, they are especially great for anyone who has trouble with big pieces of steak. They cooked quickly and made for a delicious dinner—I'll definitely be keeping these on my grocery list!
I used this to make a gravy mixture to put over egg noodles, and it taste better than any gravy I had, used it over bake potatoes and mashed potatoes. I marked 1 star for fat but actually I didn't see any fat. The meat turned out so tender. Like it better than the bid chunks. I will be buying this again.
Call me crazy, but we buy this meat for our dogs. They don't have teeth. From a cost standpoint it's great, and from Quality standpoint it's much better than inexpensive meat. We buy at the local grocery store. I do eat it myself quite often, and it's got great texture and not a lot of fat.
I was with this for marinating to make a great carne asada burritos like to do in San Diego. And I was not disappointed they were really good. not even A strip of fat. I myself like a little bit of that for flavor but it still had good flavor with no fat. The price was just a little high let's hope it goes down soon.
RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED at 11.50 a lb for meat scraps that were gray! There were tiny bits of dog kibble sized beef with a bunch of fat chunks, and the coloring was way off. I can go to the real grocery store and get steaks for 11/a pound and this junk was more than that? I had ordered it online and tried to return it, but they "CAN'T" take returns for online groceries?
I order a pick-up order containing Small beef tip. When I received the order the beef tips were 7 days past the use by date. It just shows the “shopper”:don't look at the product, they just pull off shelf and place in buggy. This is the second time in 9 months this has occurred. I will no longer purchase meat from Walmart.
Ridiculous. Originally ordered at 6.76 a pound When you search for carne picada it comes up that you can get 1.5 to 2 lbs of meat for 13.bucks and some change. At the last minute they only have 1 pound packages and its no longer 6.76 but 10.99 a pound. They offer this at the last minute as a substitution. Never again
I usually use ground beef but decided to experiment and I greatly regret it. I do not know what cut these were taken from but they were full of gristle and they had a strange taste. I looked at the package and there wasn't information about the cut. It could be the particular package I received but I am guessing it is scrap, inferior cuts. And with beef being as expensive as it is, I would tell you not to bother. For about $4 less, I could have gotten ground beef and it would have been so much better.
