I'm on my 4th electric/battery operated can opener, what am I doing wrong!? I have always bought canned vegetable and fruit produced by the Great Value brand. I'd throw a can on the counter, get the desired opener and in a mere few seconds, my can is opened, contents glistening.
That stopped happening a month ago, my can opener would not open G.V. canned goods, of any type, size or metal type. I bought a new one as I had the previous one over 2 years and thought it was time to retire it. New one, didn't work. I buy a 2nd one, it wouldn't turn on the first time. Ordered the 3rd, it arrived last night, great design, relatively good weight, battery operated, good things are about to happen...wrong. I put up 5, count em, 5 Great Value canned products and whipped out the new opener, it struggled, made the normal metal on metal noises, I just knew creamed corn was headed my way for dinner. The opener never even made a scratch on those 5 cans. Nothing, anywhere was even nicked, scratched, the canes were good as new. I even removed the labels and tried opening the can, NOTHING!
So here's the deal America, either Walmart has redesigned their cans to save money and they've done so by cheating on the measurements and features that influence how an auto matic can opener works or I am simply a moron!. Don't tell me 3 auto. can openers in a row are going to fail, not possible.
So I have yet one more return to do now, but I learned my lesson, no more "Mod Can Openers" for me, I'm going back to a handheld and just be jealous of the rest of America.
