Very sturdy. Did have a lot of pieces but worth it once put together.
Bed looks good. I switched the stairs to the other side by flipping some of the boards around, cutting a notch for the bottom footboard rail, and drilling extra holes to attach the stairs to the upper bunk. Came out ok, although some stairs come with pre-glued boards that need to be separated. You can't really tell it's ugly and if I was more ambitious I would paint the brown mdf.
