Fairly easy to learn Hanayama puzzle. This would be a good one to start with to get the idea of how they work/concept of basic designs. Definitely a level 1 (entry level) puzzle.

The first in a serious of various Hanayama key puzzles, this version is the most popular Level 1 piece. This is a throw-back to years gone by, of pirates and magic boxes and treasure chests. A great introduction to the concept of the 3-D maze, both younger and oldsters will want to give it a try, First separate the two keys and then bring them back together. Great fun hearkens back to days-gone-by.

Most of the Hanayama collection requires that you struggle to get it apart, and then struggle even harder to get it back together. When I challenge friends to this puzzle, I do a different kind of "presentation". Rather than handing them the assembled piece, I just show it to them; even let them hold it in their hand, but then I take it apart and challenge them to put it back together. In this fashion, they don't get to "reverse engineer" the solution by observing how it comes apart. I take the same approach with the Hanayama Loop, another Level 1 winner. You show it to them, you take it apart, and them you hand them the two pieces and challenge them to put if back together. Most folks just can't figure out the very simple but clever solution. Absolute beautiful design and finish to this piece, this is a staple and mainstay of the Hanayama level 1 puzzles.

A very simple but gorgeous puzzle. It's Hanayama so you know it's top of the line!

This item was both exactly what I had hoped and also slightly disappointing merely due to the ease at which it is solvable, but it is a high-quality piece and I liked that it was a heart because I wanted to give it to my partner and it was one of the few different puzzles I was giving to my partner to start his collection and journey with these.

The puzzle took several of us some time (many, many tries) to figure out how to resemble. But it's disappointing the it falls into the two pieces immediately picking picking it up. It came separated in the package, unlike the other Hamayana puzzles.

I like this item but my item received had a major scratch and rough spot on the front. I will want to exchange it for a smooth piece
