I love it

Sawsan December 30, 2025

I love Bernat chenille yarn it is an excellent choice for baby blankets thanks to its exceptional softness and plush texture. It feels incredibly gentle against sensitive baby skin, making it ideal for cuddling, tummy time. The yarn is thick and works up quickly, allowing baby blankets to come together fast while still looking full and luxurious.

Nice yarn to work with.

Awesome product. This is my second baby blanket made with it and I love it. Everyone that touches it is so impressed--it is unbelievably soft. I am using a #11 needle and it goes quite fast. I think babies are lucky who receive a blanket knitted with this yarn!!

Great yarn for a baby blanket!

BellasMama June 26, 2020

This yarn is so pretty and soft! When I first saw it in the store, I was not sure I would like working with it, but I decided to buy it anyway. When I got home and started using it, I found out how easily I could crochet with it. It kind of has a silky feel to it, so it feels nice against my skin. It is so thick it makes my projects fly by. I have made several doll blankets with it, and now I am working on a baby blanket. I think the recipient of the blanket will love it as much as I do.

Making a baby blanket

swanheart November 28, 2013

I liked this yarn because it's so nice warm and thick. I would consider myself an intermediate beginner. I was going to use a seed stitch but I didn't like the way it looked. Or felt when I was crocheting with it. It's going to be a gift so I wanted it to look nice. I decided a single crochet after looking around on the internet would be best and I do like how it's shaping up. I also used a M crochet hook. If you want a good sized blanket I would suggest using at least 2 skeins.

Great yarn to work with

1BeenThere October 12, 2014

I had started a baby afghan and needed lots more yarn but Walmart was sold out in the two closest stores so I ordered online. My order was there in 2 days, and the product is exactly what I ordered. This Bernat Baby's Yarn is almost like chanell, or maybe plush terry, somewhat bulky and works up easily. The afghan is absolutely beautiful. I posted 2 pics, but they don't do justice to the beauty of this afghan. Then again, I'm not the best photographer. The price was right and I would reccommend using this to all crafters. I love the free site to store shipping.

Love it!!!

Pouafi February 23, 2017

I decided to make a crochet a blanket for myself for once. I absolutely love the colors and the feel. I purchased my first 3 spools in store. I noticed I could get the big one online and it was much less. For $10 you can't beat it. I am now down to the last of the 4 and need more. However I noticed the price keeps fluctuationing. I will wait for it to go back down or buy elsewhere. Note I M not a professional by far. I thought I was making a queen size and to my dismay it has turned into larger than a king size..lol. I love it though. It is so warm and cozy!!!

Very soft, very thick

AuntNutmeg April 28, 2014

I bought this yarn to make a blanket for the twins my daughter is expecting. I expected it to be a bulky yarn, but it was even thicker than I expected. I decided that it would be too thick to use as a blanket to wrap the babies in, but would be perfect to make a floor blanket (one they could lay on to play before they start crawling). It's coming along nicely. I just wish it came in some adult colors because now I'd like some leg warmers and a scarf in this! It's very very soft and snuggly and quite warm.

Baby yarn

StarzFl January 9, 2013

This yarn is very soft and fluffy. The only down side is that the yarn has knots where they may have run out while the machine was running. They do not match the colors, so if you are going for a specific pattern in your blanket, it will cause a problem.

Very soft, easy to work

mazfla April 14, 2014

This yarn is easy to work with and there are some very nice color combination options. I JUST learned to knit and crochet. My second completed knitting project will be a baby blanket for a friend at work in three colors of this yarn - the turquoise, the green, and the white with turquoise and green splashes. My knitting skill is the most beginning level, but this yarn covers a lot of small mistakes, and it is so soft to touch that it is perfect for a baby blanket!

Not my favorite

Anonymous May 11, 2013

I got this yarn because I needed a super bulky weight yarn for a baby blanket I'm crocheting, and everyone seems to love this yarn. It was sold out all over town, so I finally ended up ordering it from here. My order arrived very quickly, which I was happy about. However, I don't think I'll ever use this yarn again. It doesn't glide easily through my fingers, making it very difficult to maintain a nice tension (I finally had to rip out my work and go up a hook size because it was just too stiff no matter how loosely I tried to crochet). Also, this yarn I feel like will be TOO warm for a baby, plus since its acrylic it doesn't breathe, so I'm thinking this blanket will probably end up being used as a tummy time mat more than a blanket. I wish there were more affordable soft cotton yarn options that I could use for baby blankets, but most aren't very nice feeling and the ones that are, are too expensive.
