Bernat® Blanket™ #6 Super Bulky Polyester Yarn, Dappled Shadows 10.5oz/300g, 220 Yards

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bernat Blanket Yarn has been my go-to for #6 bulky yarn for years. The yarn is the gold standard in my opinion. BBY is easy to work with (as bulky yarn goes), comes in so many gorgeous colors and you can easily find combinations that work together beautifully. The yarn is SOFT! BBY also launders so well! I always recommend washing in a giant mesh laundry bag, but my daughter can't be bothered….she throws the blanket in the washer and dryer and it looks as good as the day I made it over 10 years ago! I'm on a fixed income so I wait for sales but I buy as much as my budget allows. Next sale…run…don't walk!

I love the feel of this yarn and it is pretty easy to work with (making stuffed animals). Some colour's are more dense and they are the best to use. I find I use a lot of stitch markers as the really fluffy colours can make it hard to see the stitch.

I love this yarn! This colour in particular is very plush and super soft. Yes, I get frustrated when there is a bad knot tying a break in the yarn but the quality of this chenille is so great that it makes up for it. It does not shed and you do not have to fasten knots at the end to prevent stripping of the fluff. (Anyone who has had a bad quality chenille will know what I am talking about and if you don't, yay! and just stick with Bernat!) 😊 Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the feel of the Bernat Blanket yarn line for making amigurumi. It doesn't shed or break like some other yarns, so it is dependable. I also appreciate the large variety of colors, including the variegated ones!

This yarn is fantastic! I have been using it for over 10 years. I mainly make blankets, mostly lace. They are very warm & everyone loves them. Very easy to knit. I have made one small crocheted blanket…it is REALLY thick, but used up a lot of yarn. I will be trying sweaters & hats as there are patterns now.

I really like this yarn for crocheting all my stuffed animals that I make and sell. It is just the right softness and yet durable for prolonged play. The softness makes you want to cuddle the animal. I will also say though that the yarn can easily break compared to other yarns when tugging on it as a strand, especially for a magic ring. So tug gently. Once the item is getting crocheted and made the yarn is strong like any other yarn. The only other negative is that in most skeins there are at least 2 or more joined knots. However, overall, I do recommend this yarn for amigurumi and water balloons.

I bought the Bernat Blanket Yarn for a blanket I'm going to make. I'm new to crochet so it might be awhile before I actually start the project. The yarn is beautiful and I can't wait to work with it. 8 skeins came in this huge box, very exciting. Nice yarn but expected since it's Bernat. Got it on sale and HAD to buy it now even though I won't be using it for awhile.

I crochet blankets and typically use 4-6 skeins depending on how large I need to make it and it works up quickly, is super soft, and washes and wears well. I'd recommend this yarn without question. The colors in all of the different lines of this yarn are beautiful that I've purchased.

As a rule, I really like to use Bernat Blanket yarn for blankets…..the final outcome is a warm, soft, squishy blanket. Color choices are excellent. The yarn feels soft with which to crochet. This time I was a bit disappointed with numerous knots and tangling in more than half of the skeins. The recipient of the blanket, I know, will enjoy this gift regardless of the frustrations that I had.

Disappointed with this yarn. Ordered 13 rolls of same color yarn to make a blanket. Dye lots marked on the skeins showed they were the same but color was not i.e. a few of the skeins were a lighter shade. I didn't notice it until I was half way through the project. In addition, the yarn thickness was inconsistent within the skeins-some more than others. There were also quite a few "knots" within each skein that I was not expecting. I like working with this yarn but the quality could be improved.
