Bernat Blanket Ombre Yarn-Orange Crush Ombre

This yarn is a delight to crochet and the blanket that resulted is a favourite of all the humans in our family...but also our little dogs, who adore it for naps. A bonus is that the yarn is quite strong, so strong in fact that in a pinch I used some leftover lengths of it to secure the cover to our woodpile during 90km/hour winds...and it did not break. True story!

Amazing yarn! Thick, soft, perfect for blankets! Easy to knit with but you need circular needles to manage the thickness when doing blankets. I use an 8mm/11US size 36" but a 30" would probably work as well. Started the blanket with 24" circular needles but they weren't long enough for this project. Very warm & cozy too. It's a gift for my daughter for Christmas, in her favorite color.

These cake patterns do not repeat as the regular style skeins so if you need more pattern get the reg skeins if not the cakes are fine. Sometimes the colours are not gradual as they’ve had to knot and attach in the cake so it’s a distinct switch from one colour to next, not an ombré gradual fade in so in a big project it will be noticeable

Very soft and luxurious feeling yarn. Made a great blanket with it. The colour is very vibrant, and the quality of the yarn seems to very good. I think it will wash well on a delicate cycle and a low heat dryer.

This yarn is amazing. Not only is it super soft and perfect for blankets, it is also very easy to work with. I have made a blanket for each of my two adult children, and they absolutely love them.

Not as bright orange as I expected. I do like it for my mother in law. But it makes me think of grandmas chesterfield. Easy to work with. Hard on your fingers.

The colours are beautiful. That being said the yarn itself is not what I expect from a bernat blanket yarn it's not as lofty it is flat in comparison. Depending on the type of blanket or project this may be perfect. This is no bernat baby blanket, be warned.

Pro: Makes for fast crocheting because of its heft. Con: while the greys fluidly change, the white from the grey is simply attached and without an ombre effect from grey to white. I had to refigure the project in order to make it make sense.

I always get mixed results when I order Bernat yarn. Some of my skiens are perfect and I have no complaints. Sometimes I get these skiens that are only “half” of a strand of chenille yarn and are broken in place and just tied back together.
