I love the yarn and use it in many of the colors they have. I usually work with the yarn for my crochet projects. The yarn is soft and its easy to work with
I have bought this yarn many times from Walmart online and in-store. It is a very soft cozy yarn, washes well and stays super soft. I have made many items with the different colors, from afghans to hats and scarfs, all of them turn out lovely. The price and amount of yarn per skein is such a good value for your dollar it just can't be beat. I will continue to buy Bernat Premium from Walmart as long as they carry it.
I've been using this yarn for over 2 years. My local Walmart doesn't stock it but it's great that I found it online. I've even had friends and family check their local stores for this particular yarn. It's soft and strong but gets softer the more you wash it. I've used it for sweaters, scarfs, hats, mittens, slippers, and afghans. It's awesome! The only thing I wouldn't use it for is for 'crafts'... anything starch would damage the yarn fibers and would be aweful. I wish my Walmart store regularly stocked this type of yarn.
Have been buying this year for several years and am sad that it seems to be on the discontinued list ...most stores I visit have little selection left and purchasing online is not much better since many of my favorite colors are no longer available. The yarn is soft and easy to work with, but some balls have several knots; others only one or two knots and the occasional knot free ball, but with this kind of inconsistency, the need to purchase extra balls is necessary just in case one is not useable for a larger project and that equates to extra cost so thankfully the yarn is inexpensive compared to others of similar softness and quality.
This is definitely a product worth the money! I have been crocheting Afghans for over 30 years and find this yarn a very good price. It's easy to care for and washes well without pilling. Recently though I have noticed more knots in most skeins and some colours are not as soft as others. I will be addressing this with the manufacturers as this is clearly not Walmart's fault. But buyer beware because this is not detectable until after beginning use. I would like more colours in stock online; for example, robin egg blue which is a beautiful shade and incredibly soft but only available in store and sells out very quickly.
This yarn works up well in many types of projects. It is very soft and cozy. It took much longer to ship than originally stated. Often projects can take many skeins of the same colour. However, the website sets a maximum limit of 4. It also sets a minimum of 2. These numbers make no sense, especially considering the yarn is prepackaged in sets of 3!
I ordered one skein of the purplish “DAHLIA” color, I wanted to see if it was as pretty and vivid looking in person. Unfortunately I was sent a skein of dull green instead, called PINE. Very disappointed.
I bought this yarn in Pine because, despite the name, the yarn looked to be a fairly light green. What showed up fits the name Pine but not the image. The yarn is actually a dark green, which is very disappointing because I ordered a total of 6 skeins for a project only for this to not be the color it is in the picture. The yarn otherwise seems to be good enough quality, especially for the price, but yeah. Not color accurate. :(
The reason I gave it a 2 star is because even though I love the wool half way through the ball it went from a beautiful 3 ply to a single thread....I had to rip out the row I was working on cut about 2yds of wool off the ball and reattach...it was very disappointing...also the yarn had been knotted so it had been pieced together in several spots...
Purchased red and white for an afghan. The colours bled when washed (in cold water) and now it's red and pinkish. Very disappointed. I've always used Bernat yarns so I was excited to find this one. It crochets nice and for the price it's a super value. But having a project ruined by colour bleed is very sad. The package says machine washable and dryable which would indicate colour fastness. Not the case here so I will be returning the other balls I've purchased in red, white and a few other colours.
