Really incredible how well these work, I'm only concerned we'll have to empty out soon given how fast they are filling up with carpenter bees vs. leaving the dead ones in there to attract more. Highly recommend if you need to get rid of these pests.
I have carpenter bees under my portable buildings and cannot access the holes or even see where they are; but the male(s) hovers around each building. I placed two of these traps and thought it was a waste of time. Well, one day later, and both traps are full of bees. Now I'm not sure what to do, so many bees the tank is full. I also noticed many more males flying around an hour ago, Now, I don't see any. Hope I see, "None" tomorrow.
Was skeptical that these would really work when I first purchased them but within 15 minutes of hanging them up, I caught several carpenter bees. Still catching them. Bought two for $39.95, which might be a little expensive for some but they do really work, so I think they're worth the price. Actually going to buy two more.
it is awesome. i had so many carpenter bees by my front door, you couldn't get to the door at all. i tried sprays and i ecen smacked them with a shoe to kill some. This bee traped was filled everyday for two weeks. It got them all!! i highly recommend it!!!
I was desperate so I ordered this. Item with mixed reviews available on mini. Websites, I just didn't really have much hope, but I thought I would try. after I already placed my order, I realized a lot of people bought the carpenter bee bait to put on it. i didn't wanna spend any more money and online people said, just find a dead bee and that works too. I don't know about y'all, but I could never find a dead bee. So I hung it up about waist high, on my deck where the bees are always hovering around my plants and my waist. Four 4 days there was nothing. bam!! i got one I couldn't believe it! i was so excited that I caught one and now I had my Own bait inside because they put off some kind of pheromone, and all the bees wanna be together. It's been up about ten to twelve days now and i've got about nine bees, yes 9!!!! i love this thing
It really works! I attached mine to a soft pine board and placed about 12' from one nest I was aware of. In 4 days there are at least 4 carpenter bees in the trap, and I don't see any other pollinators in there which is important to me. Follow tips included on box for maximum effectiveness. Very pleased with this purchase.
I was skeptical at first. I bought two because I have a terrible problem with carpenter bees every year. It took them a few days to find the trap, but once one took the plunge, all the others followed. I haven't seen a carpenter bee in weeks.
just plug the old holes and hang this.near where they were digging in. takes a day but they follow the raw wood sent and cant get out. unless you open the bottom so if you want to just get them way and safely free them in the woods b or whatnot
I will say that while this bee trap does work, it's not as good as others I have seen with larger storage containers. It's difficult to see how many bees have been trapped and what their "status" is, alive or dead, when you drop the hatch. It's not fun dropping the hatch to empty it and have a couple of angry bees still kicking. The previous bee trap I purchased had a long cylinder catch so you could see how full it was and if they are still moving. It was much easier to manage. Also I've seen some folks in our area making homemade traps for much less money, $10 each, and it has a mason jar for the bee storage area. Those are much better.
The "cord" on the top broke the first time i hung it up and pulled the bottom cord enough to open the lower hatch. I tried to screw a small eye screw in the top so i could rehang using a piece of a wire coat hanger, and the plastic top cracked in two. Very disappointed in quality.
