Durably, super easy to prep for umbrella snd priced to sell!
Easy to fill (hose screws into base plug) and has stood on its own with an umbrellas without having a table to help with support. Even with some pretty strong gusts. Not totally tip proof without being hooked into a table but works for our needs. Once filled with water be prepared to have to move a 50 lb hunk of plastic and water. It does slide easily on concrete.
This umbrella base looks so much better than the broken one we replaced. We filled it with sand instead of water. So far it is withstanding our occasional 50 MPH winds in Oklahoma City.
These are super stable and hold umbrellas very well. I've purchased 4 of them so far. Highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking umbrella base. Easy to insert umbrella and has 2 screws to tighten. We filled ours with water so we could easily drain and put away in the fall. The last base we had was metal and got rusted. Glad we won't have that problem with this one!
I just bought this for my patio umbrella. First, be aware - it?s more of a very dark brown (think walnut) than black, which was exactly what I wanted. I put sand in mine, because I was afraid of forgetting to empty it every winter. As another reviewer said, it is a nuisance to fill with sand. (The opening is the size of a hose, and a funnel is too small.) That said, I should only have to fill it once. It is well-made and very attractive. It is lightweight until it?s filled, so it?s easy to move. The adjustable screw adjusted to fit my umbrella pole perfectly. I loved it so much I?m ordering another one!
I had a mount for my umbrella on my deck banister, but that was causing problems (like nails popping under stress). This free-standing mount solved that problem. The tube part of the stands gives plenty of stability, and having the weight due to water let my husband move it around easily into position (before filling it) without straining his back.
Super easy to fill with my hose, easy to assemble as well. Even filled though, it is not 50lbs. I have a 50lb metal base and I can barely move it. This one I can tip if I push it hard enough. But it serves its purpose. I like how you can take the grommet out and it will fit a 2" pole.
Bought this last summer. After only a few months of use, the metal on the bottom began to rust. It has now left rust stains in a number of places on my patio making it useless. Plastic base sounded like a good idea, except for the metal center that contacts the ground
this thing looks like it'll work great but it does not hold the umbrella in at all. the umbrella flies out with any gust of wind. if you have the umbrella slanted, it moves around in circles
