I shopped around for weeks looking for the right power tower but kept coming back to this one. Two features sold me on this one. First, the width of the dip bars are perfect. Narrow enough to keep your elbows close to your body. Others I looked at were so wide the your arms were spread out too far and put too much stress on your shoulders. Second, the basic straight design of the pull-up/chin-up bar allows for both wide and narrow and grips. Too many other units tried to provide a hammer grip option that ended up with the bar in two sections that were too far apart for aything but wide grip pull-ups/chin-ups. The unit is easy to put together, as long as you've got some basic tools. It's sturdy, but light enough to move around if you need to. The pads are soft enough but, if there is an area to improve on it would be the grips on the bars. They're just black plastic. It would be nice if they were foam. Aside from that, this is a great power tower!
We purchased this product for our 13yr old son for Christmas. First of all, using the SITE TO STORE was FABULOUS! I LOVE IT!.......The product itself comes in a mid size box and it was easy to put together (it turned out to be larger than I thought). We had family over for Christmas and 98% of them tried and loved the Fitness Tower! The most weight that was tried on it was 242lbs and it held sturdy so I'm pretty sure it holds more than that. My brothers and sisters liked it soo much they say they're "going to buy one". I felt that this would be a great alternative to weight lifting (for now)for my 13yr old and he LOVES it! I have never seen him work out so much! He loves doing the pull/chin ups, I love doing the leg and knee-ups, my daughter love doing the knee-ups and my brother is the MASTER at doing dips. This is my first time purchasing a product of this sort and I thought the price was a little too much but after comparing the price to other stores Fitness Towers, this one was the least expensive. To me (and the rest of my family) it's a great product. PS...I am a REAL REVIEWER and WE really do love this product.
This thing for the money is the best option I believe. It is sturdy and takes up the least amount of space of all the pull up & dip stations that I researched. It fits perfectly in a small spot next to my treadmill. It's easy to take apart if you have to move it to a different room or floor. I really have no complaints at all.
ok, the package was torn and it had obviously been dropped. If I had it to do again, I'd have paid for a higher level of shipping because they used a cheap shipping service. Assembly was simpler than I expected. I did it alone in about an hour. Be sure to have wrenches, preferably a few good ratchets on hand. I did all the bolts loose at first and then tightened after assembly to get a nice solid, even stand. Instructions were better than most. Not hard. Product is solid and does not wobble (it will if you do not tighten the bolts properly) Solid and strong. Works for myself, my husband and my 14 year old son. Very good value for the price.
First off I want to say this is a great machine! I was a little hesitant since it was so cheap! but the quality exceeded my expectations and am very happy with my purchase. The only bad thing i hadn't noticed before buying this machine is that it is not made for chin ups (pull ups w/ palms facing you). I could do them but its a little difficult since the back piece gets in the way as you go up, and there's no close hand grip either. Its not impossible to do chin ups on the machine, it just makes the task a little more strenuous especially if your taller than me (5'8). Took a little more than a hour to put together since I didn't have the right tools but it was fairly easy and straightforward to set up. Would make an awesome gift for the fitness junkie in your life considering he has the room for it of course. My ex gym partner was amazed that it only cost me 100 dollars and is looking to buy one too. WalMart is great!!
I am 5'6” which is about the max height you want to be. I just need a very small jump to reach the outer handles of the pull up bar. The leg raise station is great. I can really feel it in my abs and there are multiple variations of leg raises you can do. The dip station works quite well. I have a pipe I lay across the dip bars and do inverted rows. Another great back exercise. The unit is sturdy enough but there is some noticeable movement.
It's a great value for the price. It does not take up a lot of room space. Pretty solid construction, although some of the joints are a little loose, even when bolts are tightened down. The grips are made of plastic and occasionally slip. Grips are included for the push up bars. The chin up bar grips are only at the bar ends, so it does not allow for various grip position. (Nothing that some athletic tape or grip tape can't cure). Overall, I have been very pleased with this product, and have used it daily since purchasing it.
The price on this was by far the best I have found. The ease of putting together was also great. My only complaint is that the arms are a bit further apart than the one I'm used to at the gym...so it's a bit harder for me to do it...but I suppose over all...that's helping with more muscle. Doesn't take a lot of room and is nice looking. I do wish the chin up bar was more of an accessory and that I could have left that off..meaning the whole upper part and not just the chin up bar itself. Still....great deal! I put it in my work office since I have no place at home for it...
Pros: Simple, no moving parts, multiple exercises can be performed from this platform Cons: A bit wobbly. Non adjustable chair/arm rests. Bottom line: You get what you pay for.
i got this item from sams club due to it's price and appearance. Pros: very small foot print-needs only a little room. good for knee raises and other exercises. Cons: body touches the frame when doing pull ups-it is designed like that for balance. I bought it mainly for pullups-so i returned it without a problem-good service from Sams and Bestfitness. So if your focus is knee raises etc and not pullups, this is a great item for the price.
