Better Homes & Gardens 10.5 gal /40L Stainless Steel Rectangle Step On Garbage Can with Lid

I have not used this much yet, but the lid opens and closes easily and it looks like a more expensive stainless steel trash can. The metal on it does look thin though, but you get what you pay for in the end. So long as it is not used in a kitchen where it will get kicked or knocked around it should hold up fine.

I like this can for several reasons; the lid does not slam shut, it is easy to clean up as it is stainless steal, and it is hands free.

This garbage can is the best one I've ever owned. It looks nice. Has a soft close lid. Fingerprint free!

Affordable and looks very nice! Using the suggested tip further down the list...Adding wood to the bottom. We bought two for trash and recycling. They look great side by side!

We have had this can for at least 3 years. I honestly couldn't remember where we bought it it wa so long. I have 3 kids and we are definitely active and make a ton of trash! I can't even imagine the number of times this can has opened and closed with the pedal and has held up over all this time. A couple of times the pedal has worked itself loose but only after a couple of years. Each time we have put it back and reconnected the parts and it has been returned to perfect working order. It has been great! For $55 bucks vs. the $100 other manufacturers make its really a great deal. So much so that after several years the inside plastic removable part has chipped on the edge and falls down inside now and we really want to just buy a new insert not a whole new can because it still works just fine. Great bargain.

When I went to pick it up ,It was dented so I went to find one that was not dented but there was not any.So I returned it to another walmart and got one that was not dented.Kind of a hassle .Wish they would not of pulled the dented one for me to buy in the first place.but I did end up with a great trash can for 50.00.A very good buy for stainless.

Inner bin comes out which is great. Lid closes quietly, and it's large diameter makes it easy to throw away larger items.

Saw the item at my local store. Two were available at the store and both were dented. For $60.00 i want an undamaged item. I ordered online instead and received a perfect shipping box with a similarly dented item. I don't understand why anyone working in their shipping warehouse would box and send a dented item. Very poor customer service and quality control.

The trash can is very pleasing to the eye in the kitchen if you must have to look at a garbage can. However, although it has a lip to hold it, the plastic garbage bucket insert that slides inside of the metal exterior sometimes drops below that lip and makes it impossible to get the insert out. It makes it especially difficult when it's filled with garbage. I've had this can for about 5 weeks now and I thought it was the cat's meow until it wasn't! I have had the insert get stuck on me 4 times already. My husband and I had to fight with it for nearly 20 minutes to get the insert out. Finally, this last time, the pedal rod came loose when trying to pry the insert out and we made several dents from banging on it. I've had enough. I don't have the receipt as I didn't expect to be returning a garbage can but I'm going to bring it back anyway and get store credit for something else. Unbelievable!! If they had only went a little further with the design and testing process to make sure this can was glitch free, it would be a great can.

I really like how this can looks and the rectangle shape helps it fit into narrow spots, but I have bought 2 of them in the past year and a half and they both broke. The flimsy plastic parts snap and there's no way to repair them. The lid broke on the first can and the step broke on the second can.
