after a full day of direct sun, this light will last over 12 hours barely losing any light output in the constant on mode. the downside comes when you get a cloudy day. obviously the battery isnt going to last overnight if it's cloudy that day. after the battery dies, the unit forgets what mode you had it on, resulting in erratic flashing the next evening. then you have to go to the back of the unit and choose the setting that you want. this is a pain if you have the solar panel mounted high. this happens every cloudy day. i love it because of the long battery life, but having to re choose the settings every cloudy day makes this unit kind of annoying unless you want your house looking a beacon randomly.

I love that they were thin and easy to install on the cabin ceiling. They aren't too bright, but added a nice atmosphere to the porch. Super disappointed they didn't last one summer season. I only turned them on when I needed the porch lit, and now they don't come on at all. Both strands died at different times. Both are removed now. I won't be buying this brand again.
