Better Homes & Gardens 21.1 gal Square Motion Sensor Kitchen Trash Can, Stainless Steel

This trash can is a way better upgrade from my nine stars trash can. I paid almost $100 dollars for.. It is tall and slim instead of short and bulky. Looks very minimal in my kitchen. I also love how it's so quiet, you can't even hear it open or close. I also love how the lights blink to let you know how long the trash can will stay open before it closes.

The Better Homes & Gardens motion sensor trash can is really convenient. Sometimes my hands are filled and I need help opening the lid. The motion sensor helps tremendously because I can just wave my arms/hands over it and it opens the lid for me. I like that the lid can help block unwanted odors from the trash but it doesn't get in the way due to the motion sensor. This trash can also holds a very good amount of trash in it, yet the trash can itself is square shaped and compacted. It does not take up a lot of room!

Really like the tall height! And love that you don't have to touch the cover to open it, live the sensor though seems to only work going right to left. So far no smudges on stainless steel to wipe down since it's fairly new. So far we have it in our closet so is mainly used to throw away stuff like price tags from new clothing items or rubbish when cleaning out my purses or our pockets so we really won't have to empty it for awhile since it's huge. Will see how often we have to change the battery with daily use.

This trashcan is 1000x better than my old motion sensor trashcan. The old one took four bulky D batteries. This one only uses 4 AA batteries. The old one had a lengthy delay between waving over the lid and the lid opening. This one opens nearly instantly. The old one would close on your hand. This one keeps the lid open as long as your hand is over the sensor. The old one had no indicator lights. This one has indicator lights. The old one is short and has a larger "footprint." This one is tall and has a smaller "footprint." The old one did not have a manual (press button to open and close) mode. This one does have a manual mode. The old one had only a 13-gallon capacity. This one has a 21-gallon capacity. I love that I can go a whole week from trash day to trash day without having to change the bag! It also looks great! My only complaint is that it's hard to find 21-gallon trash bags!

Had a trash can just like this one only it wasn't as tall, this one is much better. My old one is wider but gets filled up faster where as this one is much taller and won't get filled as quickly I hope. Runs on double A's (4) which doesn't come with it but still good to have, old one worked on 4 D batteries which was harder for us to keep on hand. This trashcan has lights that indicates when it is about to close unlike my old one.

I love this garbage can already. The sensor on the lid allows you to open it hands free. I just wave my hand over the sensor and it's totally hands free. You can wait a few seconds and it will automatically close or you can push the button next to the sensor and it closes immediately. It only requires 2 AA batteries so hopefully they will last a decent amount of time before I have to change them. Another thing I like about it is it's sleek stainless steel color and it's size. I've always had 13 gallon garbage cans but this one is 21 gallons so it can hold quite a bit before I have to change it.

This is weird to say, because I never thought that I would say that I loved a trashcan, but I love this trash can! The Better Homes and Gardens 80-liter can has definitely exceeded my expectations. It is tall, which I appreciate because I am tall and all of my short trash cans were always a pain. It is MOTION-SENSORED!! Even my teenager, who hates to throw stuff away doesn't mind using this can. He calls it fun!! It only requires three double A batteries, and poof, you're good! I would highly recommend!!

We have struggled to use this, the 1st week or so. Have never had one so it took a bit for our hand to make it open when we wanted, and close when we wanted. Now that we have the hang of it- love it. It's a very big size, perfect for our kitchen and family. The outside is easy to wipe as needed and looks beautiful.

I absolutely love my new motion sensor trash can!! This is an upgrade from a peddle stainless steel trash can that my dog would constantly just push the lid up with her nose and help herself. This can is nice and tall and has a small footprint in my small kitchen. I wasn't sure if I was going to like relying on the motion sensor, but so far it's been great! Just wave a finger in front of the sensor and it opens, stays open for about 5 seconds, and then shuts. I love the ring to hold the trash bag in place. It takes 4 AA batteries, and I am curious how often you'll have to change the batteries, but will probably just buy rechargeable batteries for it. It's super easy to clean using the products I use to clean my stainless appliances. I love that when I'm cooking and handling raw meat, I can just reach over from my counter and open the lid with a swipe of my hand without having to walk over to the front of the can, square up, and then hit the peddle to open the lid. It's actually made cooking a bit easier. This is the best trash can I've ever owned. Giving me real adulting vibes for sure!

It lasted 6 months before the sensor stopped working. I kept it near the kitchen and it is a 4 person household. I had a ninestar prior to this that lasted 5 years and it still held strong I just did not want to clean it out during our move so that is the only reason I got rid of it. No I regret letting it go.
