Better Homes & Gardens Leighton Solid Wood Twin-over-Twin Convertible Bunk Bed, Mocha

We bought these for my 4-year-old twin boys. We knew they would fight over the top bunk so we bought them with the plan to keep the beds as separate twin beds. It worked out perfect. The beds are nice and solid. They are made of wood not manufactured wood. I weigh 270 and they feel really solid when I lay on them. We should have these until they are in their teens. The directions are easy to follow. Everything goes together with a provided Allen wrench. I used a drill with and Allen bit that made the assembly A LOT easier. If you are going to set these beds up as separate twin beds, DON'T follow the directions to the end. You'll just have to take parts off.

When you first get it from the store in the box, it is VERY HEAVY, so make sure you have help or have it delivered. Assembly instructions were incredibly easy to follow. Its best to do this with 2 people though, because you physically have to lift the top bunk to put it on the top. The kit had everything it was supposed to come with including a couple extra pieces for the screws and stuff. All pieces are great quality, nothing cheap! The wood was actually very fresh as well because I got reain on my hands from one piece 😂 It's not 64 inches tall though, its a bit shorter than that (my fiance is 6 ft and its nowhere near 4 inches taller than him lol). I like how the ladder is connected to the bed instead of angled outwards as this saves space, but its a bit difficult for a smaller child to figure out because its straight up but shes caught in to it. Great quality. Great bed. Well worth the money. I'd recommend this bunk bed!

The beds arrive in a super long box. It’s not too heavy but definitely requires a partner to lift. To assemble the bed requires a partner as well. The directions are clear so it goes by quick and it’s a great bed for younger kids to grow up with. Definitely durable wood. I love the beds and so do the kids.

the solid wood is heavy, feels solid when out together. took about 2 hours to assemble mostly alone (you will need help to get the top bunk up after they are assembled), if you had some help it could get some faster. doesn’t require a power drill but i highly recommend one with a hex/allen bit to drill in the screws. it comes with a little L allen key to assemble and that would take FOREVER i ordered mainstays innerspring mattresses to go with it and they are perfect. my girlfriend can lay in bed with our daughter no problem and the 9 year old loves the top bunk

Take your time on the long screws to make sure they are lined up before tightening. The wrench will take forever. Use a drill and hex extension and set the drill on a low impact setting. This will save you a LOT of time. The long screws will strip out at the fitting end if you use too much pressure. Overall, very nice solid unit and looks great.

Love the bunk bed! Was exactly what we were looking for. Can't believe the price we paid for this bunk, its super good quality and sturdy. The paint on it is good too. Was a little time consuming to build, definitely a 2 person job. My girls love their new beds. We went ahead and ordered the girls the 10" pillow top mattresses and they fit perfectly. I know it says the 6" mattress are made for this bunk bed but the 10" fit perfectly also if you're thinking of getting a better quality mattress. Would definitely recommend this affordable , good quality bunk bed .

The creamy white color is beautiful, and the kids love it. However, the staircase design is not flexible enough, and the smell of the wood and paint is strong and pungent.

The bed was split all over, pieces were broken, pieces didn’t work properly for the areas needed. Very very disappointed in this product and will not be buying another one. I went back to the store to look at another one and they opened it at the store and it was also cracked open. Terrible product and the product was cheaply made.

My boyfriend had purchased 2 of these bunk beds for his cabin. First bunkbed was good but was missing a barrel nut and they do not give you any extra hardware. Second bunkbed we did notice it had been mangled on a corner when brought out but taped. When we opened it fully , there was no hardware whatsoever and there was damage to a couple pieces.

Unfortunately while this bed is pretty, the side splintered after barely 2 months. When trying to get a refund, I was told I’d need to bring the ENTIRE bed back. $200 wasted and we still need to find a bed for our kids. We have to now take the entire set apart, package it, and FEDEX it to the store if we want our money back.
