Better Homes & Gardens Leighton Solid Wood Twin-over-Twin Convertible Bunk Bed, Mocha

We bought these for my 4-year-old twin boys. We knew they would fight over the top bunk so we bought them with the plan to keep the beds as separate twin beds. It worked out perfect. The beds are nice and solid. They are made of wood not manufactured wood. I weigh 270 and they feel really solid when I lay on them. We should have these until they are in their teens. The directions are easy to follow. Everything goes together with a provided Allen wrench. I used a drill with and Allen bit that made the assembly A LOT easier. If you are going to set these beds up as separate twin beds, DON'T follow the directions to the end. You'll just have to take parts off.

We set them up as twin beds. They look expensive. And seem durable. The only thing I dont like is that the mattress sits slightly below the side rails. I had forgotten that most bunkbeds are like that but usually only on the top bunk. It makes it difficult for me to make the bed as I have to lift the mattress up in order to put the sheets on it. As somone with arthritis in their hands, its even more difficult.

The bed is of good quality and my kids age 12 and 9 years are enjoying sleeping on it. Till now we are not experiencing any problem except that the stairs are not very comfortable while coming down according to my 12 year old. We used it as bunk bed .It's worth the price.

The creamy white color is beautiful, and the kids love it. However, the staircase design is not flexible enough, and the smell of the wood and paint is strong and pungent.

For now i give this a 3 star because it came with no instructions and the wood is all banged up. I have no idea how to put this together so hopefully i can find directions online. I already waited 3 extra days for delivery because it was delayed so my son didnt even get to sleep on it while he was with me he got it the last day and has to wait now another 2 weeks to be able to sleep on it. Needless to say im not impressed

The bunk bed is very nice the issue was that the wood was damaged. The box where it came was extremely heavy and it needs at least two people to carry it. If anyone orders online I would suggest have it shipped at a local Walmart store and open the box in front of the Walmart employee at the pick up station and checking every piece of wood as that will save you a headache. I made the mistake of not opening and checking the box when I picked up and when I brought it home the wood was damaged and discolored so not what the actual picture looks like. My friend had to buy something to color the wood but still couldn't hide how the wood was damaged and discolored.

My boyfriend had purchased 2 of these bunk beds for his cabin. First bunkbed was good but was missing a barrel nut and they do not give you any extra hardware. Second bunkbed we did notice it had been mangled on a corner when brought out but taped. When we opened it fully , there was no hardware whatsoever and there was damage to a couple pieces.

Item came with two pieces damaged, and two left bottom posts. (Items are precut, so no substitution). Company sent replacement which had worse damage than the first pieces. Screw heads strip easily with no way to screw them in or out. Had to buy a special tool to work stripped screws out. Several pre-drilled holes for screws drilled not straight or not deep enough to allow easy assembly. Very poor quality wood. Wanted to return, but company said I have to first send them photos then pay to return. An absolute waste of money.

Unfortunately while this bed is pretty, the side splintered after barely 2 months. When trying to get a refund, I was told I’d need to bring the ENTIRE bed back. $200 wasted and we still need to find a bed for our kids. We have to now take the entire set apart, package it, and FEDEX it to the store if we want our money back.

I purchased these beds in December of 2020 (about 6 months ago), my husband sat on one back in May, and one broke. My 4 year son jumped on to the other and it broke. I was okay with chalking it up to my husband being too heavy, even though he’s not big or overweight, but when my 37 lb 4 year old broke the other, it just proved to be poor craftsmanship and cheap. They beds are super cute, but just not durable at all.
