Better Homes & Gardens River Oaks Outdoor Sofa & 2 Nesting Tables with Patio Cover, Natural

So I bought this item and I was so excited to put it together and put it on our porch. Now the couch itself is beautiful!! It’s well made and just a lovely piece of furniture, and the tables that come with it are also really nice. The bad part comes with the cushions. We took them out and left them alone for a few hours hoping they would fluff up but sadly not enough. They don’t even fill the cushion cover 🙄. So now I have to go out and spend another $150-$200 on new cushions which is so disappointing!! So even though it seems like a great couch for the price you end up having to pay with buying new cushions on top of it, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

I ordered both the sofa and the matching chairs. I love the chairs however, I am very disappointed in the cushions on the sofa. They do not even match the cushions on the sofa. They are very thin and have no piping around the edges like the chairs do. Now I am having to find someone to make more substantial cushions. Very disappointed in this product.

Assembly was fine until the cushions. The cushions do not match the product description. They have not expanded even after applying heat as suggested. There is no seam on my cushions like the ones in the product picture. I also bought the swivel chairs and am have to repack them to send back because a metal bracket is broken.

BUYER BEWARE: this version is not the original. It is basically two chairs that get connected together so there is a seam down the middle of the back, seat and front kick plates. Not one continuous piece like the original. These cushions are not the same quality either. You can see there isn’t a nice cord trim around each cushions like before.

BUYER BEWARE. If I could give this 0 stars I would. The cushions are NOT the same as what is advertised on social media. Thin and flimsy. It makes sitting and getting out of the couch hard to do and I’m 5’3. The seat cushions are NOT 5” and do not have any piping. Cushions come vacuum packed and some don’t inflate all the way. One seat cushion is 3.5” and the other two are 4”. The back cushions offer no support. This couch has a center bar which you can feel through the seat cushion. I feel duped. Walmart took advantage of a trending item on social media and cut corners on the newer model to save a buck.

This is not the original. I purchased this one as I thought I was purchasing a 2nd and when I started assembling I realized how much cheaper this one is made and I totally dislike the seaming and the cushions!!! Very uncomfortable. Bring back the old design and send me one to replace this junk. I have the couch, chairs, and foot stools in the old style and love them.

I’m really frustrated with this purchase. The outdoor couch I received is not the same version that was advertised or previously sold — the quality, materials, and design are noticeably downgraded. It feels like a totally different (and cheaper) product, yet sold at the same price. This isn’t just disappointing but also misleading. Customers who paid full price for what was shown in the listing deserve at least a partial refund or credit. I already spent time assembling it before realizing the differences, and it’s clear this was false advertising.

We bought the River Oaks swivel chairs a couple of years ago and loved it, but at the time didn’t have room for the sofa as well. We added a patio addition and with the bigger space, purchased the sofa. The quality has gone downhill. The cushions are not as full and firm and the material is much poorer quality, and the seaming that makes the swivel chairs look like they cost more than they do, is absent. They were advertised with the seams as well. I posted on social media about this tagging Walmart and Better Homes and Gardens and within hours they updated the advertisement to show the unseamed sofa. I feel duped. We lacked the space to purchase the full set the first time, but Walmart is supposed to cater to folks that may have to save up to buy the full set. I was that customer base in my 20s and if you are changing the product, I feel like it’s kind of a slap in your customer base’s face. Outside of the framing they look like they came from totally different product lines. Also, the frame was misaligned in a few spots. I’ve attached photos to show what the original advertisement pictures showed, and what I got, and the most recent photo of the new advertisement which was not up on the website when I made my purchase.

Completely misleading advertisement. Please get in contact with me asap regarding this. The couch does not look like this!! Reach out to me @walmart and make this right. I’m not spending my time packing up and returning this to the store when you wasted my time with false advertising

I am so disappointed! I’ve seen this couch go viral and wanted it for my porch - but had to wait as the brown option was out of stock - it finally came back in stock and I purchased it, not knowing that this is not the same River Oaks couch that has been so popular! Reading other reviews now, I also feel duped. The quality for the money is poor - this is not worth $700! The cushions are thin and slide off slightly as you sit. The couch is two sections put together, not a solid piece as before. The coffee tables are nice but no one is buying this set for the coffee tables. Overall, this couch just isn’t with the price, take off $300 and that’s more in line with the quality. I’m just very disappointed, I’ve been waiting to get this couch and now that I have it, it’s not living up to the pictures and rave reviews I’ve seen in the past years. I feel like I wasted money on something that is just very basic. I also wonder if the sizing is different than the old version, the size of this couch seems small/short which might be adding to the feeling of ‘dinky’ that was my overall reaction once I had it fully assembled.
