Better Homes & Gardens River Oaks 4-Piece Outdoor Sofa Set with 2 Nesting Tables and Patio Cover, Natural

Love the Better Homes brand but look closely at this sofa before you purchase. The seat cushions are not as thick and comfortable as the cushions on the Better Homes chairs I have purchased. Also, the back cushions are a bit thin and not comfortable. The god news is they all have zippers so adding stuffing is possible. Assembly was a bit of a pain as the pieces were not marked to correspond with the instructions but you can figure it out. Many of the welded on mounting brackets were bent out of shape and could not be fastened until I bents them back with a big wrench. Wasn't difficult but I was concerned I might break a bracket off during this process, which I did not. Overall, it feels very sturdy and that materials seem durable. Time will tell.

So I bought this item and I was so excited to put it together and put it on our porch. Now the couch itself is beautiful!! It’s well made and just a lovely piece of furniture, and the tables that come with it are also really nice. The bad part comes with the cushions. We took them out and left them alone for a few hours hoping they would fluff up but sadly not enough. They don’t even fill the cushion cover 🙄. So now I have to go out and spend another $150-$200 on new cushions which is so disappointing!! So even though it seems like a great couch for the price you end up having to pay with buying new cushions on top of it, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

BUYER BEWARE: this version is not the original. It is basically two chairs that get connected together so there is a seam down the middle of the back, seat and front kick plates. Not one continuous piece like the original. These cushions are not the same quality either. You can see there isn’t a nice cord trim around each cushions like before.

BUYER BEWARE. If I could give this 0 stars I would. The cushions are NOT the same as what is advertised on social media. Thin and flimsy. It makes sitting and getting out of the couch hard to do and I’m 5’3. The seat cushions are NOT 5” and do not have any piping. Cushions come vacuum packed and some don’t inflate all the way. One seat cushion is 3.5” and the other two are 4”. The back cushions offer no support. This couch has a center bar which you can feel through the seat cushion. I feel duped. Walmart took advantage of a trending item on social media and cut corners on the newer model to save a buck.

I’m really frustrated with this purchase. The outdoor couch I received is not the same version that was advertised or previously sold — the quality, materials, and design are noticeably downgraded. It feels like a totally different (and cheaper) product, yet sold at the same price. This isn’t just disappointing but also misleading. Customers who paid full price for what was shown in the listing deserve at least a partial refund or credit. I already spent time assembling it before realizing the differences, and it’s clear this was false advertising.

Completely misleading advertisement. Please get in contact with me asap regarding this. The couch does not look like this!! Reach out to me @walmart and make this right. I’m not spending my time packing up and returning this to the store when you wasted my time with false advertising

This is not the original. I purchased this one as I thought I was purchasing a 2nd and when I started assembling I realized how much cheaper this one is made and I totally dislike the seaming and the cushions!!! Very uncomfortable. Bring back the old design and send me one to replace this junk. I have the couch, chairs, and foot stools in the old style and love them.

This is not the same quality as the River Oaks that I already have. This is a different model using the same listing as the higher-quality one. The cushions are of even bad quality. I am extremely disappointed with this.

I placed an order expecting a straightforward and accurate fulfillment process, but unfortunately that has not been the case at all. I received the wrong color item not once, but twice. After the first incorrect delivery, I followed the proper steps, reported the issue, and requested a replacement. I was assured the matter would be corrected. However, the second shipment arrived with the exact same issue—the wrong color again. At that point, the frustration was no longer just about the inconvenience of receiving incorrect items, but about the lack of attention to detail and quality control in fulfilling the order. It is incredibly disappointing to place trust in a retailer and go through the waiting process only to receive something completely different from what was ordered—twice. Even more concerning than the fulfillment error itself has been the lack of response and support following my attempts to resolve the issue. I submitted a claim and followed all required steps, expecting that someone would review the situation and respond with a solution. Instead, I have been ignored. There has been no meaningful communication, no resolution, and no acknowledgment of the ongoing issue. When customers take the time to report a problem, especially one that has occurred multiple times, the expectation is that it will be handled with urgency and care. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. The lack of response has made the situation feel dismissed and unimportant, which is extremely disappointing given the scale and reputation of this retailer. What makes this even more frustrating is that I did everything correctly on my end. I placed the order properly, provided clear details, followed the return and claim instructions, and communicated the issue as soon as it occurred. Despite this, I am still left without the correct item or a resolution. At this point, the issue is no longer just about receiving the wrong product—it is about the breakdown in customer service and accountability. Mistakes can happen in any system, but what defines a company is how those mistakes are handled. In this case, the lack of follow-up and resolution has been the most disappointing part of the entire experience. I am sharing this review in hopes that it brings attention to the importance of proper order fulfillment and customer support responsiveness. Customers should not have to repeatedly chase down solutions or feel ignored after reporting legitimate issues. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made so that other customers do not experience the same frustration. At minimum, there should be better quality checks to ensure the correct items are being shipped, and a more responsive system for handling claims when issues do arise.
