Better Homes & Gardens Vivian 12-Piece Porcelain Dinnerware Set

Lovely. Heavier compared to Corelle, but pretty.

I loved the color. They are of very good quality.

Absolutely love our new dishes

I needed new everyday dishes and noticed BH%26G had a new collection. I just wanted plain white dishes and this new collection was just plates and bowls. Perfect, I have too many cups already. I found the perfect set and when going into the description I discovered it was called Vivian. Coincidentally three days prior I had a new granddaughter born named Vivian. I new then I had to get this set. It is exactly what I wanted and Walmart delivered it the next day.

I can’t believe the great price these are, for the quality. They look expensive and feel it too. My family loves these dishes.

I love the half inch lip around the plates. I love that the plates are flat with the raised lip edge because it gives you more room for food and also helps keep the food from going off the plate sides. The white dishes are porcelain and I love that. Makes them a bit more high like crate and barrel but also safer than ceramic because some of those contain lead. They have a high end look without the price! The salad plates are great for sandwiches and chips at lunchtime and the dinner plates are the perfect size for a protein and 2 sides. The bowls are a great size for soup, ice cream, cereal, salad and shepherds pie or chicken pot pie. They are a little heavier than stoneware or ceramic dishes but I’m ok with that. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. I highly recommend them but kind of wish the pink version was porcelain too.

I like the modern look of these dishes. The plates are just the right size and flat with a good rim so your food doesn’t slide off. The bowls are deep and just right for cereal or soup. My complaint is that they etch from silverware use. After just a few weeks my dinner plates look marbled with light grey streaks from the silverware. I expected better from Better Homes and Gardens porcelain dinnerware.

The dishes are a soft sophisticated pink and cream. I love the cream on the outside and pink inside. I did wash the dishes in the dishwasher twice and they have held up beautifully. My main issue is consistency in production. It took 3 shipments of dishes for me to receive a good set of dishes for 8. One set was so poorly made that I was afraid to wait for a replacement but I'm glad I took the chance. My final setting turned out wonderful.

The small plates are heavier than the bowls and checked to see if they are porcelain and they are. Bowls are porcelain. Large plates are heavy like stoneware. Checked if porcelain and they are not passing the porcelain test. This review is for the Better Homes %26 Gardens Vivian 12-piece dinnerwear set. Can Walmart verify the large plates are porcelain?
