Better Homes & Gardens Wall Light Sconce, Burnished Brass and Matte Black Finish

These are so cool, my daughter loves them. The bring a little mid century modern look to her bedroom.

The sconce is a little bigger than I expected, but they are just what I was looking for. Price point was amazing. I can't wait to get them installed!

Better home and garden wall sconce definitely hit me with a past meets present kind of retro vibe. The frame of this light reminds me of a 1950s desk lamp very minimalistic and simple but with slight industrial lines. I really don't know how to describe the color but it's like a modern brassish shiny color something I haven't seen before. This light did come with instructions for wiring and hanging which took very little time to do.

I needed a way to light up the area where my desktop computer sits, but didn't have enough room for a desk lamp. This Better Home and Gardens wall sconce light illuminates an indoor area without taking up valuable work, desk or table space. It is important to note that this particular wall sconce is a hardwired light fixture and does NOT have a cord or plug. As such, the installation should be performed by a qualified electrician. There are four pages of detailed instructions regarding safe installation. Company contact information is also included. The only assembly you have to do is to attach the lamp shade to the socket and insert the included light bulb into the one socket. Maximum 60 watt light bulb, please according to the written instructions. More about the wall sconce: this is a lamp that looks traditional but retro at the same time. The round base and the exterior of the shade are an attractive burnished brass color, with a subdued metallic sheen. The arm of the light fixture has a black matte finish that complements the burnished brass in daylight, and then almost disappears in darkness when the wall sconce is the only light in the area. It's a very nice effect. The Better Home and Gardens 1 Light Wall Sconce is not dainty! The sconce protrudes about 15 inches from the wall, is about 8 inches tall and the lamp shade diameter is about 7 inches. The size and bowl shape of the shade creates a strong light for my entire desk area. I recommend it if you're looking for a permanent and good quality wall mounted light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so impressed with the looks of this light. At first glance and feel, you can tell it's a very well made light. It feels solid. I temporarily mounted it in my workshop in order to leave an accurate review. Installation was extremely easy. I believe anyone with some basic tools could install this. When I flipped the switch, the light bulb came on right away and provided a lot of light. It was so nice, I plan to buy a second one and install them on both sides of my bed. Definitely recommend these lights.

These are really nice looking and sturdy lamps. It should be noted that they do not have an on/off switch on them. Also, they didn't come with a plug - they're made to be hardwired in to existing electrical source. Fortunately, my husband was able to add a switches and plugs to ours, and they are very functional this way.

Be aware that this device needs to be connected to your home's wiring. It says wall sconce, which makes me think it is something that can just be hung on the wall, but that is not the case. If you are an electrician, then this device will be fine, but I am not.

This is a review for Better Homes & Gardens' one light wall sconce. It has a burnished brass finish with matte black accents. A dimmable light bulb is included. The light fixture arrives well packaged. Caution is urged for cutting the tape as the wires from the lighting can protrude. I almost cut the wires before I even had the light removed from the packaging. Simple instructions are included for the assembly and hanging process. The shade is large enough to put out a decent dome of light. Everything is included to wire the light fixture for electricity. The wall sconce has a brass metal shade and base with a black connector. The colors are bold in that they only match a specific decor. The burnished brass shade is durable and convincingly metal. The base, however, almost appears to be plastic. At least the two connectors visually appear plastic. I have tried tapping on the material to decipher the noise. I can only recommend this fixture for certain rooms including dorm rooms, kid rooms, or rooms with a desired color scheme. I would not recommend Better Homes & Gardens' burnished brass one light wall sconce with matte black accents for a high end/ luxury project. The quality is just not there.

I can not bring my husband to mount this light. As soon as I saw it I wanted to put the cover back on the box. Maybe it is me but this light does not look like something that belongs in a house. Maybe an office? If you want to use a regular incandescent light bulb it will only allow up to 60 watts. The shade for the light is solid so the light coming from it will basically aiming directionally down. For some reason I was expecting brushed nickel in color. I must have read the description wrong. Are we really reverting back to burnished brass? Light fixtures should make a home and room feel comfortable and relaxing. This thing just hangs out and feels like it would be in the way. I won't give it one star because my review seems more due to personal taste. The finish is decent if you like that brass color. My photos actually don't look so horrible with it hanging on the wall. Please realize this light is hanging off a nail and is not hooked to any power.
