Now I Know

Katybug December 2, 2017

I hadn't heard of Baobab. But, I Googled it and learned it is a true superfood. BetterBody Foods LIVfit Superfood Baobab Powder, has many health benefits; very high in vitamin C; a natural source of calcium; contains magnesium, zinc, B vitamins, high in dietary fibres, and prebiotic properties. The powder is an excellent antioxidant. It has a very light citrus flavor. I blended the powder with Kale, banana, Flax Seed, and Blueberries. It has a very light citrus flavor that went well with these ingredients. It dissolved very well and easily.

I liked it

I've never heard of Baobab Powder and decided to give it a try. I've used this product twice so far and I like it immensely. I discovered that it is a great source of vitamin C. It has a citrus flavor that is delicious but not overpowering. I like that this product is versatile, it can be included in a smoothie, sprinkled on your food, or added to your water.  Keep in mind, a little goes a long way. The first time I tried it, it was way too thick. I consider it a lesson learned.  After trying this product I felt more energized and less fatigued.     Baobab is an organic super food that improves cholesterol and reduces visceral fat, so I've heard. On the label there is a smoothie recipe which may enhance the taste of the powder, however I added it to my water instead. It does not taste sweet at all unless you add fruit or whatever you're in the mood for. The powder is thin with a chalky after taste. If you can get past the chalky after taste this would be a great product for you. In my opinion, the Baobab Powder is a welcome addition to my food pantry.

Great in a smoothie

Razzledazzle November 28, 2017

This product is great when incorporated into a smoothie style drink. It's easy to mix and use. When using this product, it promoted a feeling of fullness, which when you are cutting calories, is very important. Overall, this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Love that it only has one ingredient, baobab

MeInKentucky November 27, 2017

I am reviewing LIVfit Superfood® Organic Baobab Powder, 6oz. I received this product free to try, in exchange for my opinion of the product. I selected this product because it is certified (NSF) gluten-free (a must for my daughter), as well as organic. We are also trying to eat healthier. The label does indicate they are made in a facility that makes products containing coconut, but for my family, this is not an issue since we use coconut oil in many dishes. This is also the first time I have ever tried baobab. I like that it naturally contains electrolytes, as this will help eliminate a 'non-natural' product I have been purchasing. It is also non-GMO, which we also like. The only ingredient in it is baobab pulp. A serving size is two tablespoons, and only adds 17 calories to your food or beverage. I did not notice it in a glass of organic orange juice or other juices. I tried a tiny amount of the powder straight, and it had a very, very mild citrus flavor, somewhere between lemon and orange. There was no 'after' taste. Besides smoothies, I will probably be adding it to applesauce, as well as other fruit and vegetable dishes. I do like this product, and see myself buying it in the future.

Awesome stuff!!

Anna August 4, 2017

I was looking for a product to help me easily reach my fiber intake for the morning. This is it. I only use have the serving, one tablespoon, to my regular morning fruit blend and it has a light citrus taste. Along with this brands other product, superfood blend with protein, I have lost weight. I make a shake every morning out of fruit and yogurt to help me reach a healthy, balanced breakfast.

Gotta Try It

anoldcrow November 17, 2017

I never realized that the Baobab tree often seen in nature programs on Africa produced such a healthy edible fruit. It's organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, high in fiber, Vitamin C and iron. The flavor of the powder itself is not stand-out distinctive but is tangy with a slight lemon-lime taste. I prepared the Superfood Smoothie recipe on the package and it was awesome! The serving size is 2TBPS and the package contains 17 servings. I'm not sure of the amount one would add to baked products but it can be used that way also - not just to liquids to drink. I especially liked that it is low in sodium.

Good for smoothies

bookgamer November 28, 2017

This powder is good in smoothies and taste just like Sweet Tarts. I mixed it with several different smoothies and yogurt and all of them turned out yummy. It is a really tart powder. I am on a low-carb diet so this was perfect for a little pick-me-up in the afternoon.

EASY TO USE AND HAS A TANGY FLAVOR

Godisgood2us November 28, 2017

I mostly use this Boabab Powder in Smoothies. It is loaded with nutrition such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Calcium, Magnesium and Iron. There is also Potassium and Fiber. It dissolves easily in water and helps the smoothies to be creamy. It has more anti-oxidants than most fruits. I would surely recommend this product for a healthier lifestyle.

Good source of extra antioxidants

elkhorn November 26, 2017

As described, I found the baobab powder to have a mild citrus taste. The aroma is not offensive, in the package is kind of a nuts and twigs smell. I could not taste it at all in my morning smoothie, and it added an extra umph of anti-oxidants for just a few calories. This powder dissolves perfectly, even in plain water, though I would not recommend using it that way. I will be using it up in my smoothies which are well blended. It is easy to use and is a very fine powder. The packaging is in a resealable plastic pouch. Requires no refrigeration. I appreciate that this is an organic, sustainable product, and would buy this product if I needed more anti-oxidants in my diet, but I am well supplied as it is. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.

interesting

eBoY November 15, 2017

I had never tried fruit powders but wanted to. This can be used in anything from drinks to oatmeal. From drinks to oatmeal. This isn't very sweet so usually sugar will bed to be added. A con that I noticed is the powder is super fine...to fine as it gets in the Ziploc grooves and wont allow the bag to close. Put into different container though, and you have a nice healthy boost to almost anything.
