I have not yet had a chance to cook this, but I can tell looking at it that it is a good quality product that is fresh and low dust. It is fantastic that Walmart has started offering ancient grains in its better goods line. The price is fantastic! They already offered a really good quinoa mix. Hopefully, they will also start to offer grains in the hulled versions that include the bran. I enjoy bulgar 1000 different ways: in salads and even with noodles, parmesan, olive oil, and garlic. To make a fantastic tabouleh salad, you just add cooked bulgar to green onions, parsley, chopped fresh tomatoes that have been seeded, chopped up mint, olive oil, and lemon juice. Once you start eating grains, you will be able to kick the white rice habit. Just mixed together your favorite grains with some lemon juice, red wine vinegar, chopped green olives (with a splash of the juice), chopped sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil (or if they are not in oil, you can just splash a little bit of olive oil in your grain salad), and lots of chopped up flat Italian parsley. Sometimes, I also add crumbled feta cheese or chopped up ahi tuna steak. Walmart sells really good frozen ahi that comes with each portion individual individually wrapped. All of these grains cook up lightning fast in a pressure cooker like the instant pot.
Very delicious! I prepared using chickpeas, onion, garlic, and chicken stock. Mmmm, mmmm good!
Love the taste, so earthy. Was not expecting to be so good.
Good quality bulgar at a great price. Happy my local store is carrying it!
I have a diabetic husband that loves rice, this is a good compromise.
best yet of many
i followed the instructions on the bag, and it came out way too mushy. maybe i will try it again with less water, but the instructions did not work at all.
