I'm really impressed with this bettergoods Gluten Free Broccoli Cheddar Bake. It's hard to find gluten-free frozen meals that don't have a weird texture, but this one is spot on. The cheese sauce is rich and creamy, and the broccoli actually holds its shape instead of getting mushy. It's a perfect, easy dinner for when I'm short on time but still want something that feels like real comfort food. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!
Taste good, a bit dry, might throw a pinch of butter and salt/pepper, maybe garlic when done, glad the broccoli is cooked and not crunchy. The plastic wouldn't come off the bowl, had to cut it off. Cheese sauce could be a bit more cheesy but at least it was all cooked well. Pretty decent product Better Goods, most of your stuff is good. I might put some chicken with it next time.
I was excited because this was a dollar cheaper than another brand's version but it did not match the quality of the other brand. Left is other brand and right is the better goods product. It was mushy and the taste was not great. But it was edible if you're in a pinch, so 2 stars
No flavor. I add seasoned salt and pepper but it didn't help. Very bland The contents just covered the bottom of the bowl, barely a serving, not a good value. Tiny little bits of broccoli. I did appreciate that it was not in a plastic bowl, but I won't purchase it again
I was excited to see some new GF options for quick meals, and I've liked other products from this brand. When I peeled back the film after cooking, I expected to see rotini, but it was just a bowl of mush. It was like a thick broccoli cheese soup with a few pieces of pasta in it. It wasn't visually appealing at all. I will definitely not purchase again.
As a shopper who needs to eat gluten free, I was hoping to like this as much as the similar but more expensive item from Amy's brand. Unfortunately I found the flavor somewhat lacking, the broccoli felt overcooked, and the pasta was tasteless and much too soft. The first Bettergoods item I've tried that I wouldn't buy again. i might try one more time in oven instead of microwave.
I can't believe the price of this bowl. $5 for the worlds tiniest portion. I even added half a bag of steamed broccoli in, which actually made the bowl look full unlike the pathetic half fill when you open this up, and even after that, it still was barely filling. I ended up hungry again in an hour. The taste isn't anything special either. Prices are out of control anymore. Walmart brands like this at the very least could be doing better to be affordable in comparison to the other brands, but no, they're scamming us too. I won't be buying again.
This was a suggested substitute for Annie's brand, which was out of stock. In no way does this compare to Annie's. 😑 The texture was mushy, the taste was bland, and no crispy breadcrumbs on top? The price point was great, but not the product. I'll gladly pay a little extra for consistently delicious Annie's 😋 and Walmart has the best prices for Annie's frozen entrees. 👍
After reading several reviews that this new item from Bettergoods was “good”, I bought two to try. I have been buying the Amy's Organics version of this for years and, although very tasty, I can no longer afford to keep it on hand. The price just keeps going up and up and no longer makes sense to buy. I just tried this for dinner and it is disgusting. It's soupy, has zero flavor, and the cheese sauce has a curdled appearance and texture. Yuck! I tried covering it with salt and ate it bc, well… I bought it, I'm poor, hungry, and don't like throwing food and my money away. There's still a box in my freezer that I guess will eventually get thrown out bc I'm not putting myself through that again. I won't buy Amy's Organics bc I can't afford to. I won't buy this Bettergoods version bc it tastes revolting. I love the Bettergoods Mushroom Truffle pizza. It is REALLY good. I was hoping this item would be, too. Nope. I don't know if the folks who gave it good reviews got a different version from a different manufacturing plant or what. This item is not good. Spend the money you have on a few shelf stable boxes of mac %26 cheese instead. It will go farther and taste way better. I see I can upload a picture. I've already eaten it. Perhaps tomorrow I'll cook up box number two just to show you what I mean and take a pic of the curdled cheese rotini broccoli soup “bake” for you. Then I'll have to throw it in the garbage bc that's where it belongs. Yuck.
I know this is supposed to be a better version of the Amys brand but don't waste your money. It's pretty bland and the noodles are mushy. Just get the Amys brand and enjoy your meal. We already can't have gluten, don't make it worse by buying this.
