At first bite, it was reminiscent of a bread and butter pickle. But I was pleasantly surprised as the spiciness and maple flavor snuck up on me. There's a nice crispy crunch as you bite into the pickle chips. I planned on eating them on sandwiches and hamburgers, but they're so delicious I'm going to snack on them by themselves. The only downside is that a larger jar isn't available.
Some of the best pickles I've ever had far as store bought pickles and they are as close to homemade canned pickles I've ever bought from a store...Highly Recommend...!!!
These pickles are so delicious! A nice spice but a sweetness as well. What I love about these is they keep their crunch! I heard walmart is phasing these out. I'm really hoping you keep these Walmart! I've already tasted the spicy Famous Dave's ones and they are not good at all.
These pickles are very fresh, very crisp, and very flavorful. They are quite spicy! I love a zesty/spicy pickle and can easily eat a jar in a day or two. These I can only eat a handful at a time cause they do have quite a kick! They also come in a smaller jar than other pickles in the same category and price range. But excellent quality.
these were pretty good pickles. not really what I was looking for exactly, Walmart used to sell a sweet and spicy pickle under the marketplace name several years ago that were much better. my biggest problem with these was not that they were not sweet or hot, they had a good balance of that, but the first thing I tasted when I bit into these was cucumber. yes I know, pickles are made from cucumbers, but a well made pickle never tastes like a cucumber. it tastes like a pickle! but you taste the cucumber first, and then a second or two later came the sweet and the hot to really get a better review from me, they need to lose the cucumber taste.
they stopped making the Sam's Maple Bourbon pickles and assumingly, replaced them with these. they taste completely different from one another. these pickles just taste like a vinegary bread and butter pickle, at best. there's no maple, the tiniest taste of sugar maybe, and worst of all there's no heat. so they reduced the size from 24 oz to 16 oz, lowered the sugar content and took bourbon out of the title, which wasn't an ingredient in Sam's anyway. why discontinue something that was clearly liked by a majority of customers? some feel the need to follow new trends but why keep taking away long loved and used products for a passing trend? My guess would be the almighty dollar. they want trend, they're going to pay for it! If you loved and want the taste of Sam's Maple bourbon, don't buy these.🫤 FM has a Private Selection spicy maple bourbon pickle that I will try next.
I love maple bourbon pickles but these were so distasteful, I couldn't even swallow them and ended up spitting them out. This product needs a recipe overhaul or removed from the marketplace.
The first flavor that hits you is vinegar. There is no discernible maple flavor at all. They are a little spicy but compared to the great value maple bourbon pickles that I was buying, these are not worth the money. I repeatedly bought the great value brand of maple bourbon pickles but I will not be buying this one again. I poured out a little of the brine and poured in some maple bourbon syrup and added a touch of maple extract and I hope that will make these more edible. Why would Walmart do away with a brand of maple Bourbon pickles that people were repeatedly buying and put these in instead? Why do the good products always seem to go away.
These awful pickles were to take place of the Sam's maple pickles that everyone loved BUT Walmart failed to keep in stock maybe because they are now found on Amazon but really expensive. I took 1 pickle in my mouth and spit out so disgusting. But these pickles are getting reviews like I just said about them. Maybe not Walmart's fault. I just won't be consuming them. I we I'll try other things and when I miss the OTHER pickles go to Amazon to purchase.
I thought these were just a packaging change for the Sam's Choice Maple Bourbon pickles (I used to buy these 2-3 jars at a time) but they are definitely NOT. Somehow these are sour, not tart but truly sour. I'm really glad I didn't buy 3 jars of these because I threw them outside for the squirrels that'll usually eat anything and they didn't even touch them. BRING BACK THE SAM'S CHOICE MAPLE BOURBON RECIPE!
