I used these for the first time in my life. They are delicious. I made stuffed dates from an Egyptian ancient recipe. I stuffed them with pistachio butter, mixed with black pepper. Then honey in a heavy pan to heat up. Then sprinkle with coarse salt. Delicious.
I am always looking for something sweet without gluten and i finally found that one sweet goodness i will always crave! Natures sugar! Healthy and so versatile. I eat these plain' mashed up and cover with melted dark chocolate in a 9x9 pan and add any type of nuts you would like and top with sea salt! You can also ground this up and spread on toast or add on vanilla ice cream or yogurt!
ive tried quite a few brands. this has been my favorite for months now and i will not buy any other kind! love the gooey on the inside texture. many others ive bought have been stiff and somehow seem old and dried. i prefer these over dried up ones. so delicous and fresh tasting every time!
I am seriously impressed with these bettergoods Whole Medjool Dates—they are hands down some of the best dried fruit I've found at the store. Each date is super plump and juicy, with a rich, caramel-like sweetness that makes them feel more like a treat than a healthy snack. I love that they aren't dried out or tough like other brands; they have that perfect soft texture that's great for stuffing with almond butter or just eating straight out of the bag. Whether you're tossing them into a morning smoothie, chopping them over yogurt, or using them in a recipe, the quality is fantastic. This 8 oz bag is the perfect size to keep in the pantry for whenever a sugar craving hits!
These are very fresh %26 soft to the very last one. I have always loved dates, but the ones I've bought in the past seem to dry out %26 get hard halfway thru, but not these. They stay soft %26 are very flavorful to the very last one. I had my package for almost a month because I didn't want to run out, %26 they never got hard to eat. Warning: they are not pitted, but the pits are fairly small %26 easy to chew around them. Bravo to Better Goods, which is quickly becoming my favorite all around brand!
I prob would have bought a few bags of id known there aren't many in them. they're very big -- I'm used to deglect boor dates which are smaller and harder. keep in mind these have pits. good dates -- I don't know why anyone would need caramels with these guys made by mother nature.
I have tried lots of different brands of dates and these are great quality. They are a decent a size and have a great taste and texture. If you prefer to snack on dates occasionally, the value refelcts the quality.
The first bag I bought was so good - tasty, sweet, moist, plump and just about perfect, that I bought two more bags. The second and third bags, were still delicious, but not so moist and plump. A little on the dryer end. I love eating these stuffed with walnuts for breakfast. Or just plain as a sub for prunes or other morning fruit. Will buy again as they are still cheaper than the grocery store ones.
I have had better but they are okay. They aren't very juicy and do not have a strong caramel taste. I was trying to use these as a sweetener in my smoothies and they do help counter the bitterness but do not make them "sweet". To get that sweet taste I want, I would probably have to throw 1/2 the bag in, and that would be costly! I would not want to eat these plain or in salads, as they just don't offer the excitement I expect. But, with that said, I guess if you don't want super sweet, then these would be great for you or your kids. And it would seem they are dry enough that if you wanted to cook with them, it wouldn't be too hard to get that nice crispy quality often sought after.
Mold in the dates. Upset my stomach a lot. I only had one moldy one and then I realized that it taste so weird so I opened another and there was mold in it and then I opened another, and there was mold in it, and it was really gross. Did some research and believe the specific type of mold was Aspergillus sp., typically A. Niger. So so gross and made me so sick. The mold was spreading everywhere, I placed it on a cotton round and you can see the mold all over it in the pic I took
