Finally a gluten-free mix that yields a great result the first time! My husband very rarely likes anything gluten free, but he liked these cookies a LOT! They tasted as good as any non-gluten-free cookie! I don't think anyone would know the difference if I took them to an event. Excellent!
I come from a household of Celiacs, and nobody who can eat gluten will ever understand fully the struggles of eating celiac friendly gluten-free food. Some people eat gluten-free as a diet, whereas people like me and my family, we eat this way because we have to, there is no other option. More often than not gluten-free food is made to be healthy to cater to those who eat gluten-free as a diet, but people like us who just want good food, appreciate things like this amazing cookie mix. Where usually I need to bake from scratch, this cookie mix tastes just like it was homemade, with so much less time spent in the kitchen, which is amazing! From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you from people like me, and others around the globe who have Celiac, who just want some yummy snacks that aren't sweetened with darn grape juice. We want sugar! Please continue to make more gluten-free options, the more the merrier 🩷
These gluten free chocolate chip cookies are soooo tasty. I have made them on several occasions for church socials and no-one could tell that they were gluten free. Easy to make and my grandkids love them. They are a little pricey, but hey when you need to go gluten free, price is not an object when you want a sweet treat like this! Betty Crocker's other dessert items like the yellow cake mix are excellent also. A little dryer than a normal cake but tastes great!
My daughter has recently been diagnosed with Celiac and we have been visiting various gluten-free bakeries looking for snacks. Have to say we made these cookies today and they are by far the best gluten-free cookie we have eaten so far. This will definitely be our go to cookie!
It's hard to get gluten free products right but Betty Crocker has done a good job with these. Easy to make, taste great, and good texture which is hard to achieve with gluten free foods. Recommended buy.
These cookies have a very good taste...not exactly like regular choc. chip cookies, but good -- just a different good. Cost is not bad for gf mix. BUT, they do leave a gritty feel in the mouth -- as you chew and after swallowing -- for a few seconds. I WILL buy them again, though, because of the flavor. Much better than the ones we "pitched".
The new GF choc chip cookie mix box is so tiny, makes half the amount of cookies and they taste weird. Consistency is sticky, hard to work with. Maybe it's because you now add water. I had to put dough in freezer to work with it. Not sure what changed on ingredients but they have this odd overly sweet taste. Not crispin up like they used to. Very raw looking. This was a regular shopping cart item. Five stars before....No more.
They're not the worst GF cookies that I've had but they are definitely not what they used to be. They used to be great but are now WAY too sweet and the consistency is terrible. It's sticky and very grainy. I can't eat even one cookie without having to wash out the sugar and now get really bad heartburn eating even half of one. I won't be buying these again.
We're gluten and dairy free and while there is an allergy statement saying may contain milk ingredients, the “may contain” is not usually a problem. This mix caused such a bad dairy reaction in both me and my son that this wasn't a may contain situation. There is no question that dairy was a BIG ingredient in these. I was hugely disappointed and going back to King Arthur cookie mix. I have to add my own chips but they are delicious and we have never gotten sick eating them.
I am VERY disappointed by the new recipe for the gluten free chocolate chip cookies. The original recipe, which did not require water, nor did it contain molasses coloring, was far superior. I will not buy the new one anymore. Yuck! BC, please bring back the original recipe!
