This thermometer is amazing. It is by far the most accurate one I have found, and I have been through a few terrible ones. It's also so easy to use. I really like the ability to save the temperature to memory with the date and time it was taken so I can track mine or my child's fever. This thermometer has both ear and temporal abilities making it great for everyone in my family. I would highly recommend this thermometer to everyone.
Pretty simple digital thermometer. Works as expected. The digital interface is easy to read and understand. There is one button setting for the forehead and one for the ear. If your temperature is high, it will blink red and a little alarm will bleep. If your temperature is average, it will light up green. You don't have to get too close to your forehead or your ear or it to pick up the temperature. The readings seem pretty accurate and consistent. Great to keep on hand around the house and easy to use.
This is the third one I've tried, although the others didn't give you a choice between an ear and forehead reading. It is easy to use and to set up. The read out is easy to see. Using it in the ear I think gives a more accurate reading and the reading when you use it across the forehead is a degree or so higher than normal. The cover you need to remove to use it for an ear reading is a bit difficult to remove, I thought I was going to break it. I haven't opened the back for the battery compartment yet so I can't speak to that. I do like it and will probably use the forehead method so I don't have to remove the cover, keeping in mind it will be a degree higher. I like that it stores the last 10 readings so you can always go back and look at it. I haven't figured out if you can delete them, there's nothing in the directions about it. I don't guess it matters though since when you set it up you put the date in, so you can figure out which ones you're looking at. I do like it and I'll be using it.
Let me start by saying FIVE YEAR WARRANTY! I have been through so many thermometers over the course of 19 years of having children and the Beurer brand has been the most reliable I have ever used. The FT 65 Multifunction Infrared is a must-have! It comes with so many bells and whistles. My favorite feature is the large display screen. It also has an automatic switch-off function. It contains No mercury & is without glass. It features ear, forehead, and surface temperature, temperature alarm, date and time, and 10 memory spaces. I recommend the Beurer to all my family & mom friends.
I actually don't have any kids but I know that this is great since it's so fast at getting the temperature, but for my use, it's because I'm getting old and it's become difficult for me to read the tiny writing on the glass thermometer which is what I've always used. The digital is the way to go since it's much easier to read. Recommend for anyone, but especially those with kids or poor eyesight.
Very easy to use thermometer. You can easily put it to your head and get your temp that way or you can use it is your ear. Both gave me accurate readings. This seems to work with in seconds which is nice when you are trying to get a reading with a very sick child. I will definitely purchase more from this brand.
I like this thermometer for a few reasons. First it is nice and compact, so it is easy to store and carry. The fact it is not shaped like a gun, which for me was a psychological thing, as holding something shaped like a gun to my head is "disturbing ". Next, it reads instantly, which is nice when taking the temperature of a squirming infant. Thirdly, it allows temperature to be taken both by easily swiping the temple area or in your ear. Last it can read the temperature of anything, up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit, this is great for checking the temperature of things like a baby bottle. I can trust the quality and accuracy of this, since it is made by Beurer, a trusted name in health and well-being. Because of the compact size, the display is a little small and at times hard to see the icons, but if just checking your forehead for a fever, it is no big detractor.
This is a great addition to anyone's medical supplies. It reads accurately and gives a green or red signal so you know if you are okay or ill. It takes regular batteries so I won't have to hunt for them. It even turns itself off so I don't worry if I forget. The thermometer will read your forehead, ear, or surface temperature. I even tried it on my dog! It works great on her too!
We've long been using a digital thermometer, but it still needed to go under the tongue and we still needed to wait for a few minutes to get a reading. It's uncomfortable holding a thermometer under your tongue, but when you don't feel well it's really terrible. You can see the difference between the two in the picture. The digital read out is much larger on this thermometer. It gets the temperature very quickly too and with no discomfort. I have allergies and can sometimes get strep throat or swollen glands due to an immunocompromised system and putting a thermometer under my tongue to check for a rise in temperature can be painful. My husband gets ear infections during the winter and holding a thermometer under his tongue can be painful for him as well. This will be a game changer for us! We've tested it several times already against the other thermometer and apart from how quickly it works, it's accurate too. I had a doctor appointment and checked it against the one they used and it was the same to the decimal point.
This is a nice thermometer quality wise. It’s a bit confusing to use at first so you really need to read the directions really well to get to know how to use it. I know, we all hate reading directions. Even after that you might be confused. For instance, it says to press and hold the power button for one second for it to turn on and do a self-test and then it will beep twice. Well, this thing never beeps at all. There are other instances where it supposed to beep but maybe I’m deaf, but I've never heard it beep once. There are 3 different ways to take a reading. Surface, ear and forehead. I found the surface reading to be very random and inaccurate. I would hold it and inch and a half from a person's head and the readings would be in the 80s. I found the forehead reading the most consistent. You touch it on your temple, hold down the forehead button while running it across your forehead to the other temple and release. This gave me a very accurate reading every time and pretty much matched my oral thermometer. So that’s the way I use it. The ear reading is consistent too but it’s always a degree lower than the forehead reading. Maybe I’m not doing it right. It has green light for normal and a red light for high. You can set the time and day. It has a memory button for the last 10 readings which is nice. It automatically switches off. All in all, I found it to be a very nice quality thermometer. My biggest complaint is the directions. I think it probably works like it should but maybe I’m just too dense to understand the directions. Most people don’t have time for directions. To the company: put a video on your website on how to use your products. This would be so much better than trying to understand your arcane directions. One star off for that.
