I know weather I like this one. . .

Internet Shopper November 19, 2009

This barometer is heavy and solid wood with a feel of fine workmanship. It is a beautiful piece of wall art besides being useful in predicting the upcoming weather. We keep it close to wear we dress for outdoor exercising to help us know how to dress. Many barometers that we looked at said they were only good for elevations up to 3,000 ft. This one didn't say and we had to call the company to make sure it was adjustable to our elevation (4,000 ft.).

Excellent Product

D. Willard April 12, 2008

The barometer/thermometer is accurate and easy to read, even from 10-yards away. When you get it out of the box, gently, using a small regular screw driver, adjust the barometer to the local barometric pressure; this will adjust for altitude.[@]Once this is done, I've found that the barometer always comes within half a milibars of being accurate with the local barometer. The baromete has one thing I do not like:No way to hang it in a room. It rest in my bookshelf. An alternative to a hanger would be a rest so the barometer could be mounted upright on a bookshelf or desk. This may affect the minor problem with my barometer. When I want to confirm a reading, I gently tap the glass two or three times. Invariably the needle bumps so it sticks. This may be true because it is inclined perhaps 5-10 degrees from vertical so it won't fall over in the bookshelf.I hope to have this instrument for several years to come. It looks solid enough.

High Quality In Every Aspect

BlondieB December 22, 2009

This is a quality instrument as well as a nice addition to home or office decor. I'm a devoted weather watcher and wanted a barometer that was accurate and responsive- this is such. In a lot of instances you have to pay a fortune for accuracy, but in this case, although not cheap, you get both an accurate weather instrument (as proven by its agreement with my local NWS barometer readings), but something you can add to the decor of a room without it looking out of place. This particular model has a large dial set in real wood with a solid brass bezel. I was afraid I would find a cheap part of the gauge, but was pleasantly surprised at its heft and overall good quality. Some have commented that the needle occasionally sticks, however it has been my experience that even the finest of analog barometers need a subtle tap every now and again to right the reading. A good accurate barometer is a scientific apparatus. Every once in awhile you can find a product that is within a reasonable price range for a quality item and this is it. Sure you can find a toy or something that is just a piece of wall decoration that is cheaper, but this actually hits both marks as a beautiful room accent and a serious, reliable weather instrument.

Built to last a long time

Audrey the Redhead January 19, 2009

I found this instrument to be highly accurate and very attractive and high quality. It will be something to pass down through the family for many years to come.

WHAT A BEAUTY!

Shirley December 27, 2008

This is a functional instrument that complements the furnishings in a well appointed home office. It truly adds to the decor. Of all traditional barometer/thermometers that I saw illustrated this was absolutely my first choice because of its size, the large brass center and hands, and the rich cherry wood frame, and, of course, the great price. Because of the elegance of this instrument I purchased two identical barometers as gifts for our sons.

Great for Christmas

Chance December 30, 2008

I gave it as a Christmas present and hung it on the wall near our back door. We look at the type of weather that's coming a couple times a day. It's beautifully built and heavy for its size. Much better looking than its picture.

Good Baro movement, but...

Kar-Bear December 31, 2009

Love the accurate Baro movement. The moveable pointer is very loose and does not have sufficient resistance to slip. Like most mechanical Barometers, you should always gently tap the meter face to overcome movement internal friction to get an accurate reading. NOT A PROBLEM !!!

Very nice rich looking Barometer.

dstefonek October 6, 2011

I bought this Keota Barometer and Thermometer to fulfill my desire to own a quality analog, barometer that also provided accuracy and attractive appearance for a price I could afford. I believe this barometer and thermometer combination gives all of that for less than I might of paid somewhere else. I cannot think of anything negative to say about the Keota Barometer and Thermometer. An instrument such as this either works or it doesn't, and mine works just fine and looks very nice where I wall mounted it.

All show, but no go.

joe July 9, 2009

I wanted to have some functional old technology to decorate my living room with. I have a 1939 Zenith console tube radio that works, a double faced dial train station clock that works, and now this barometer... that doesn't. Looks great, nice weight to it, but you have to tap it to get the indicating needle for barometric pressure to work. Very sticky. Thermometer works fine. If you want a decoration, buy it. If you want it to function, don't buy it.
