I thought Beyond meat teriyaki jerky was absolutely delicious. I'm not a vegan but I'm leaning that way. The jerky is moist and very edible, for the reviewer that said it was too hard and couldn't bite off a piece my suggestion is for you to suck on it, if it's too hard that'll soften it up. Anyway very tasty I recommended 100%
What vegetarian could possibly dislike this? I used to eat meat and I made my own jerky. I loved jerky and have missed it. This stuff is slammin'..... really surprisingly good. All I can say is just try it... maybe you will love it too. I have been putting it on a wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, and horseradish sauce.... yummy! BTW, the Beyond Meatballs are delicious! if you can find them in stock I definitely recommend trying them too.
I have been a meat eater all of my life. I have had many different types of jerky. On vacation once, I happened upon a store that specialized in jerky and purchased ostrich jerky. I may not be an expert on jerky, but I found this jerky to have the consistency and taste of regular beef jerky. I was extremely surprised. Some pieces were a little thick which made them a little bit firmer, but I've experienced the same thing with regular beef jerky. I have only purchased Teriyaki flavored jerky, so I can't comment on the other two. I would have to guess they're going to be the same or extremely similar. I don't regularly buy jerky, but I've purchased six packages of this jerky in the past 6 months.
We all know we should switch to a plant-based diet, but it isn't easy when things don't taste that good. Beyond meat jerky tastes good. Ok, it's not exactly a health food, but it is better than hormone-laced, antibiotic ridden beef any day, right? Whether it be dietary, environmental (cow contribution to climate change), or staying away from factory farming practices. Beyond meat jerky is a good start to change.
While I do not mind the flavor after it has set in the store for a while the texture takes a while to break down before you can chew it without jaw pain. I was fortunate enough to get a package right after the rep placed it on the shelf and it was amazing!
Best vegan jerky I've tried thus far. I'm trying to find the regular flavored because all I can seem to locate now is the teriyaki. These were randomly at a checkout next to the regular jerky. The cashier spoke highly of the flavor and she's wasn't vegetarian or vegan. And she liked it. It's chewy and tough like regular jerky. Looks like regular jerky. Not a tremendous amount of teriyaki flavor which is fine because I don't like overpowering teriyaki flavoring. And far less salty tasting than the other plant based jerky's I have tried. My only issue...the aftertaste. I can't pinpoint what it tastes like, but whatever it is, i don't care for it. Hoping to try the regular flavor at some point to see if it has same lingering aftertaste. Not sure if id but again, but i do give Walmart credit for starting to add a lot more plant based items to their stores.
Good flavor, not to hard to eat. I mean its jerky lol i keep seeing “to hard” unsure what you expect from jerky. Anyways only negative i have is it lingers, im constantly tasting it when i havent eaten any despite flossing and brushing teeth, and even weirder, my urine smells exactly like how it went into my mouth. Tell me thats not weird lol. Still going to eat it as it is tasty just odd after effects. Also not a vegan but love to eat vegan and vegetarian stuff.
Looking at the 1-star reviews had me chuckling. I really like the Beyond teriyaki jerky. I liked beef jerky before I became vegetarian, and have been vegetarian for 22 years, but it tastes exactly like how I remember beef jerky tasting. My only complaint is it is hard enough to make chewing difficult, but it's not drastically different from beef jerky.
Prefer the taste of the regular Beyond Meat Jerky, but the Teriyaki has a better aftertaste. Both are yummy and surprising in both texture and chew factor. They eat exactly like real meat jerky and are satisfying, high protein snack alternatives, with much lower sodium and calorie content. Still look forward to trying the Hot and Spicy version. Always out of stock at my location.
The texture was not that bad just a bit dry but the taste and the smell was horrible! The only way we could describe it is moldy. It tasted and smelled like it came out of an old moldy basement. We tend to like most plant based meat products but this was just awful. A huge fail.
