BIC EZ Reach Lighters, Assorted Colors, Pack of 2, Colors May Vary

I have been using these lighters for a little while now. I thought they would not reach into the candles but so far so good. They are light weight and reliable. The size is good aswell. The BQ Lighters are perfect size for the BQ. Good to have for safety reasons. Thank you 😊

Ignition system different than a regular bic, this uses a push-button electronic) igniter, while classic standard BIC's use a traditional wheel-and-flint striker. Its a bit harder to use and no easy to remove safety lock. But that longer 1.45 inches of reach is very nice to have. However the body is the same dimensions so if you have one of those slip on selves that don't cover the nozzle it will fit this. Overall its a great upgrade.

We got these for candles. Once melted down they can be a bother to reach inside the jar or cup, so the extension is useful. I was hoping it would be the same footprint as the classic BIC Maxi lighter that it appears to copy for its lower half. But it's a smaller body, skinnier and probably holds less butane. However I was still able to get it to fit inside a lighterbro multitool, so it served it's purpose well. If it were full BIC MAXI Size, I would give it a full 5 stars. I knocked off one star for that reason alone. I see no reason why it shouldn't get the same BIC MAXI Form Factor, instead of this "skinny tank."

I don't smoke but I do use these for lighting candles. What I love is my hand isn't near the flam. The size is small enough to tuck away. Holding it is comfy. Again it's great if you don't want to get burned while lighting a candle that's inside a jar and almost burned down to the bottom.

Purchased this specifically to light candles, wanted to test how the shorter lighter would work. First off, it lights consistently (you don't have to click 5x to get a flame, like some cheaper ones) so that's appreciated. The flame stays lit will, doesn't flicker out while in use. However, even for smaller glass votives, once half way burned, the flame cannot reach the wick. For the look and quality of these Bic lighters, I will definitely keep and use (they look nicer on the mantle than the long ones), even knowing they'll only work for newer candles.

Maybe the design works better for someone who doesn't have terrible early onset arthritis? However, for myself, it's a struggle to click down the button to activate the flame, and I tried both of the lighters that came in my pack, thinking perhaps that the first one I tried was just a little bit hinky or something. Alas, no. The spring activators are just really strong. I still use the darned things. They just aren't as easy as Snoop made them seem in the commercial with Martha. Sigh…

I ordered this but I was sent a substitute which was two giant firewood lighters that I still have waiting to return back to Walmart. I hate being sent substitutes if you don't have what I ordered say that and give me the option of what I want instead of sending me something I don't want. Now I have to wait until I go to Walmart to return it and get what I ordered in the first place. Inconvenient because I still don't have the lighters.

I was really excited about these lighters. I opened the package to use one and it didn't immediately light. I had to push the button 4-5 times. I thought the first one was defective being that it would only light about 30% of the time so I just grabbed the other lighter out. Same thing. I thought it might just be me but I made everyone in the house try them like some sort of a crazy person. They rarely light on the first or even fifth try. Waste of money.
